Tito stepped down as Barça's coach. New coach to be announced next week.

I'll obviously support him, as he is probably the coach of Barca now, and if he fails, Barca fails. And I obviously don't want that.

Tito stepped down as Barça's coach. New coach to be announced next week.

I think it's because of his lack of experience in Europe. I won't write him off though, he has more experience than Pep did when he first became coach.

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

PSG have officially let Barcelona know that they will reject every attempt to hold talks on the transfer of centre back Thiago Silva. [rac1]

Who would you pick, Luis Enrique or Tata Martino?

Starting to lean towards Tata, since we need change, and someone who isn't connected to the club could be perfect for that. And I hear he likes possession football, so it's not like he'll attempt a complete revolution. Oh, and he likes pressing, which is something we desperately need. IMO, the...

    Cesc Fàbregas

Now that Thiago's gone, there isn't a reason to sell Cesc, unless we're planning on getting another midfielder. Which wouldn't be a bad decision, as Xavi needs to be rotated heavily and will need to be replaced soon, which is not the case with Iniesta. And Cesc can't play in Xavi's position...

    Cesc Fàbregas

I would have sold Cesc rather than Thiago when Thiago was still at Barca, but he's not, so there isn't really a reason to sell Cesc. Unless we're planning to buy Gundogan or something...

Who should be the next Barca coach?

Looks like it's gonna be Tata or Enrique. Not entirely convinced about either of them, but I won't write them off right away, and I'll give them a chance.

Who would you pick, Luis Enrique or Tata Martino?

Not sure. Enrique's familiar with the club, but an outsider could be the best choice, as we need change. They're both gambles IMO, Tata has no experience in Europe, and Enrique doesn't have experience outside of Barca B besides a meh season with Roma. They have more experience than Pep did when...

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

:( At the very least, he won't have to deal with the pressure of coaching Barca this time and will be able to focus entirely on his health.

This. We need a coach and Laudrup fits well. Just because he played for Madrid doesn't mean he should automatically be ruled out.

    Thiago Translantara

That would be a dream... Btw, Pep's contract with Bayern runs until 2016. Thiago's runs until 2017...

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

I'm one of his biggest critics here, and trust me, I am not happy in the least. I'm sure those here who criticize him (like me) do so based on his coaching ability (or lack there of), and nothing else. I doubt any of them have anything against him personally. And I certainly doubt that anyone...

    Thiago Translantara

Maybe, but I'm not so sure. The Fabregas/Iniesta midfield hasn't really worked before. Thiago/Iniesta has worked a lot better. I think this is why many, including myself, think we need a new young, talented midfielder to replace Thiago.
  15. darthvader7888

    Thiago Translantara

Tito mistreated him, didn't trust him enough and underplayed him. He played an injured Xavi instead, and didn't even bother to play him in the 4 games at the end of the season to keep his clause up. And Tito/management made no effort whatsoever to keep him. No improved contract. No promises of...

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

I was curious, so I did some searching and found a scouting report: http://outsideoftheboot.com/2013/05/02/kurt-zouma-scout-report/ Looks like he's fast, strong and good in the air. He's also only 18 (shitload of potential and will only get better). Don't think he'd be too expensive either...

Who should be the next Barca coach?

This. I don't want to see Tito as Barca coach again, at least until we've seen a significantly improved Tito coaching some other team. That said, I have nothing against him as a person and obviously hope he recovers as quickly as possible.
