    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Who played better than him last night then Beast? I'd say only Ibra and Abidal were more dangerous/effective, and you could argue for Yaya who put in a number of challenges. Xavi was off bar the assist, Iniesta is finding his feet, Pedro was wasteful, Dani was average, and both our centre backs...

    Andrés Iniesta

Lol it's so laughable it's untrue. He has a North American style obsession with stats yet the funny thing is he's probably from the UK and North Americans have schooled him in this thread

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Yeh, as a Barca fan I'm pretty happy with his performance tonight, he was much more lively and was happy to be involved again unlike Saturday. If other people want to criticise him then fair enough but his form is not a concern for me.

    Eric Abidal

Great to see his good form continuing. One of our most consistent players this season so far.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Don't know what you were watching Beast, I'd say a 7 would be about right. He was our biggest threat and we were far more dangerous when he had the ball. Iniesta was off his game, Pedro was wasteful, Ibra played well but was isolated at times. He played some fantastic balls through on many...

    Andrés Iniesta

They were some nice moments from Andres tonight with clever touches and dribbles, but his passes were notably less accurate than normal and he wasn't quite on it. It's to be expected after that long out, and he'll hit form again soon.

    Henrik Larsson

Brilliant striker and a model professional. Fantastic career he had.

    Lyon

Didn't realise Toulalan could play CB! With no Torres tonight though he's unlikely to be tested that much. I think as long as Lyon aren't wasteful in front of goal they'll come away with at least a point. An early goal would really hit Liverpool hard as well given their current form. Should be a...

    Andrés Iniesta

Ahh missed that, thought he was only talking about Lampard. He's already totally undermined his own argument regarding Zidane though.

    Andrés Iniesta

Yeh he's conveniently ignored that point so far

    Andrés Iniesta

Don't know why you're responding to him, he's clearly a WUM who doesn't watch Barca. Anyone who does knows Iniesta always assists the assister.

    1 - Victor Valdes

Valdes is a superb shot stopper and has saved our asses on countless occasions in big moments, not least the two CL finals. He's made a few mistakes but the fact is they've become less and less regular, it's just the media who decide to focus on them and claim he's a weak part of our team...

    Andrei Arshavin

It's hard to complain now given how last season went (plus Henry was excellent) but it still seems to stupid we bottled buying him last summer for the sake of what 2m?

How do you define world class ?

He was easily our most dangerous player (which is what I meant by best), Evra never looked comfortable with him or in control and it was the quality of others such as Ferdinand who limited what Messi could achieve. Remember this was a shambolic Barca side at the time with players like Eto'o and...

How do you define world class ?

Cashley is up there but I actually think world LB's are pretty poor currently. He's very solid defensively and he'll support the attack, but if you watch him with the ball at his feet he's really clueless at times. He'll panic and just play it backwards quite often. He's much more tentative...

    Yaya + Keita not working?

Keita has been excellent this season. As maz says he's a box to box player, probably the only player we have of that type. He offers somethign different to the others, but he's not especially creative with his passing etc. Xaviesta and Yaya is definitely our best midfield, as Yaya offers...

    Daniel Alves

I just meant in general, as he goes down whenever a part of his body is touched. To be fair Banega's hand did make a tiny contact with his face, his fingertips burshed him it looked like. It was after he swiped his chest.

    Daniel Alves

Also did anyone else catch Terry Gibson's comment on Sky yesterday? When Dani was on the floor after the Banega swipe he said "where's a blood capsule when you need one" only the Brits will get that one I think.

    Daniel Alves

Fully agree. It's not difficult to say "actually, that tap on my leg didn't hurt, I don't need to roll around screaming, I'll just carry on". The fact is his antics are becoming increasingly irritating and should have cost us the game if Silva had place his shot better. I personally think his...

    Andrei Arshavin

Brilliant player, took his goal superbly yesterday too.
