Rooney is obviously key, but if Rio gets a run of games and we have him and Terry fit as our CBs that's a huge bonus. Agree though Lennon (no other effective, pacy RW) and Cashley (no other LB even near world class) are crucial.

    How funny

 side splittingly. Instead of sheep I'm going to count Real 2nd Round exits in bed tonight.

    Champions league 09-10

Yeh the Ronnie v G Nev contest never really happened, He drifted around a lot rather than hugging the left touchline, I can't even remember him directly running at G Nev down the flank. Milan were really poor in possession. That said Huntelaar was absolute shite, if he'd taken his chances early...

    9 - Samuel Eto'o

All the coolest kids are born on this day. Bin Laden and Timbaland also  Happy birthday Samu

    Champions league 09-10

Exactly, they have done this consistently for some time now. They are very canny in the market and if you consider their CL record it's very impressive. They've never been brilliant away from home, but they still had Arsenal on the back foot after the break last night. The Nasri goal killed them...

 apparently so Hamzah. Although I wasn't overly bothered who went through, Fiorentina have some good players.

Nasri's goal was incredible! What a brilliant effort. The breakaway goal after it weren't bad either. Porto were unlucky, they really went at Arsenal in that 2nd half, Nasri just pulled some awesomeness out of the bag. It's nice to see Bayern looking dangerous again IMO, they're a massive club...

Pretty good half, Arsenal deserve their lead. Still some really sloppy play at times and Porot started to knock the ball around a bit, there's always the chance they could nick a goal and level things up.

    Daniel Alves

He can be head down at times with his crossing, but other times he'll look to pick a player out. He was dangerous going forward last night but he was leaving huge gaps for Almeria all the time.

    Maxwell

Maxwell House is fast becoming one of my fav players at the club, what a hero.

    Gabriel Milito

Looked good again yesterday, really pleasing how assured he looks given the time he was out.

    5 - Carles Puyol

He had some very poor moments yesterday, but there were still some important challenges as well. He's generally been superb this season so one bad game isn't the end of the world.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Brilliant performance from him last night, deserved a 3rd. It is worrying how reliant we are on him atm. When you have a CF who doesn't score and lack regular goals from the left it's not surprising we aren't blowing sides away this year.

    Most Painful Barca Memory

The 4-1 defeat that followed the guard of honour was awful and a real low point. The 4-2 defeat against Chelsea was frustrating given how we'd come back, and the the manner of Terry's goal. The climax to the 2007 season was probably the worst though, starting out with such high expectations and...

    Bojan Krkić

Yeh total bollocks, Bojan has always had brilliant natural finishing ability. You don't come in and score the goals like he did under Rijkaard, his consistent scoring even when played irregularly under Pep, plus the crazy amount of goals he scored as a youngster, without being someone with...

    Sepp Blatter

Yeh I read this on the way to work, utterly ridiculous. I don't see it getting any momentum though thankfully. Football wouldn't work properly without offsides.

Samuel did give him a push in the back, at first I thought maybe he caught Kalou's heels as he went down, but he didn't. Kalou just threw himself ridiculously, no pen for me. Interesting half though, Chelsea have generally controlled it but haven't created much and look very flat footed at the back.

    Yaya Toure

Serious case of pot kettle black Meta. You've had a hard on for Busi all season and have constantly bigged him up and played down any Yaya performance irrespective of how either played.
  19. Cal-FCB

    Sergio Busquets

Biscuits has been dreadful for a number of games in a row. Yaya looked rusty with his touch but was far less of a liability than Busi has been lately or tonight.

    Yaya Toure

    In your highly biased opinion.
