Both racism and homophobia are issues that need to be tackled, unfortunately it seems like the latter will take even longer to eradicate, considering homophobia is still a huge problem even in countries where racism no longer really is.

Regardless, it seems the vast majority liked him. A few months ago I chatted with an Everton fan on another forum who regularly goes to games, he confirmed that he's well-liked by matchgoers in general. What a few might say doesn't constitute an entire fanbase's opinion.

I meant in terms of his performances, at QPR etc he seemed to act like he was too big for them with nothing to show for it. Now he actually looks like a good player.
