Promote one of the guys from academy, easy stuff

Tommy can do well in Casado's role coming off the bench here and there next season. Or somebody else, he came to my mind because Flick trusts him. But La Masia certainly doesn't lack talent in midfield

In an ideal world, you replace him with a good CDM transfer. In the reality we are in, you sell and replace with Gavi getting back, Bernal getting bigger role and Tommy fighting for the rest of minutes.

Exactly... Gavi is on his way back, Bernal is much better on the ball and not really worse defending and we need space for Masia talents anyway because that's how we operate. Casado is a gritty midfielder with alright technique, he'll walk in to most mid table EPL teams or even higher table Serie A clubs. Swap him for Marcus Thuram, Casado would do good in Inter imo.

Gavi has had like a million injuries already at a young age. Let’s see if he’s able to sprint in an actual match when he’s back

Casado should get nowhere near EPL midfields.

If any of them buy him it will be a mistake but they do make them as all teams do.

Too short, weak and slow and doesnt have the technical ability.

A new contract is just a poor decision there is no need for it at all.

Casado is fucking nowhere near as good as DMs in EPL mid table like James Garner at Everton. Nowhere near.

Granted I don't watch Barca anywhere near as much as you guys do, but about a year or 18 months ago wasn't he being talked up a bit? What happened to him? Or was it just the exuberant reaction to good form of a young player?

I don't think he was as good as most people thought last season and he's also not as bad as some say this year. He's also a victim of Flick's inability to rotate properly. And not the only one.

Seems a balanced post about him being both overappreciated last season and swinging the other way this, thanks.

He's far out of his depth. He managed to convince some of us when we were down and out last season, but this season when Raphinha ain't putting in the same shift and both Rags/Tuna suck it just shows how below mediocre this dude is. I'd put his name top of the transfer list with Ara and Tuna - those 3 could maybe bring 70-90M if we play our cards right, which we never do... But get at least 50M for 2 of them - we can keep Ara as our captain :lol:
