They absolutely do they just have competent defenders and don't get exposed like balde 15 times a game

Absolutely false... Pep teams were nowhere near as extreme or anywhere close to trying to catch teams offside as early and as high up as often as Barca now.

Been to games.. watched the games.. it is not even close to what Flick is doing.

Not one team on the face of the earth defendes like Barcelona.

If anyone thinks arsenal defends like us, they are lacking some serious ball knowledge.

No team uses pressing & then the offside trap as their first two means to defend, which necessitates a very extreme high line.

They press yes, but once the press fails, the adjust their shape, flick just says okay, well I'll step up a bit more once that happens

No defense that has ever existed or will ever exist could have stopped what happened against Atletico.

Which is why, while the players were awful, I'm not blaming them; that match was a perfect example of tactical ineptitude by a manager.

We've seen it before: in his second season at Bayern, teams started to figure out his system more.

We all know what happened at the WC.

We've seen multiple games this season where teams now know what we all knew last season and took the summer to figure it out.

Every time we lose, the playbook is exactly the same. If we are beaten in the exact same way every time, it tells you that while the system is good and fun to watch, it has very obvious weaknesses.

To conclude, no team plays like us, and when we play like we did against Atletico, no defense can help us.

But let's win this freaking league!!

Flicks tactics contribute to it but also the players... ultimately on Flick though midweek.

He isnt telling Joan Garcia to let ball go under his feet or Balde to be out of position as much as was.

From how set it up it appeared he wanted Casado on front of defence and Frenkie to get higher up but didnt work and left the defence already creaking exposed on counter.

The midfield was an unfit looking Frenkie with Casado or Olmo and just didnt work.

The shape of team didnt exist.

The front players did nothing to help it either. None of Fermin, Ferran, Yamal or Lewa could in any way help take pressure off and kept going for jugular and losing it.

The biggest criticism of Flick form midweek is it was poor set up and he surely could see players struggling with it and didnt change it.

Put Frenkie back beside Casado and on front of defence.. play them as a pair if Casado struggling and Frenkie not looking even fit enough to get up and down park.

Put the defensive line back a bit and allow them to mark opposition for a bit.

Do something.. dont wait for it to be 3 or 4-0 when everyone watching could see way game was going.

But he waited until game was gone to make changes.

Its all good him supposedly blaming players the next day but those players when struggling need to be helped.

🚨| 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍: It was an INTENSE morning at Ciutat Esportiva today. Hansi Flick delivered a stern message to the squad in training, questioning their attitude and intensity, particularly in the first half of yesterday’s game.

The players, however, also made their voices heard. According to those close to the dressing room, the players are not looking to abandon the tactical approach that delivered a domestic treble last season, but are instead asking for more pragmatism in key matches, greater flexibility against certain opponents, and better adaptation to the players available. Usual bullshit by Athletic. A newspapers known for doing everything in their power to destabilize Barcelona or tarnish the image of it

Can't really blame them, we have done some serious damage to premtards over the years

Relax. It's not that deep bro.

I doubt a lil newspaper article in another country can destabilize a whole Footballing institution.

The second goal was a big Balde blunder. And Frenkie could do better too

For 3rd and 4th, there is not really much he could do

But we shouldn't just focus on the goals. Atletico created many more chances

A big weakness of Baldes is that he doesnt engage enough defensively.

He lacks aggression and probably used to using his pace to defend but his defensive stats are fairly shocking for tackles etc I think,

Has to go full blooded there and stop the shot. If Griezmann puts him on arse and cuts inside so be it the next man has to try and stop that.

So bar one win vs Atletico at home in the league and the Mickey Mouse Arabia Cup win vs Madrid, we didn't beat anyone of note this season.
7 big games so far, 3 wins, 4 losses:

W Newcastle away, Atleti home, Madrid SuperCopa
L Chelsea away, PSG home, Atleti away, Madrid league

Looks balanced, not one-sided as you suggest

Given also that most of the loses (bar Atletico) happened in the period when we were playing poorly, it might be even the other way round
