What should the club prioritize

That's true, I'm on the pessimistic side on those things. I don't really understand where you guys get the optimism about small wages offered by the club if you see that this club doesn't function like this for years or even decades. Everyone who comes here or extends gets a bigger salary that they had previously, why do you think it will be different now?

Barca salaries overall matches the squad we have. Last year we had around 4th biggest masa-salary (official UEFA numbers) and we had probably the second best team last year.

Players and agents knows their values, I don't believe the bs about paycuts, but I also don't believe we overpay. Every other club have their own players that their fans hate how overpaid they are. Everywhere there are players who are free loaders too.

I don't believe the bs about paycuts,

The debate was about paycuts. You can see daily posts where people expect paycuts from our current players or new signings but that almost never happens. It never did but people still expect it, that's the part I can't understand. At least 95% of all the players signed in the last 20 years got a big salary upgrade when the signed and/or extended with Barca but there is always talk that the next signing will play for peanuts. He won't, there is a lot more chance they'll double his salary than reduce it.

I already had it in mind that Lewy should continue at lower wages, if he is up for that. Especially if Vlahovic rumors are accurate, means Ferran could be indeed moved and that would mean Lewy as depth

Personally, I think he wants to stay here but lot of moving parts linked to what ultimately happens
What a horror, Vlahovic has 0 technique and Lewa is to old this season already.

Nah man, no fucking Vlahovic and no more Lewa - we need a new and much better idea!

2 goals and 1 assist for Rayan in 3 games for Bournemouth so far. Lad looks like a physical beast even in the Prem.

Endrick with 3 goals and 1 assist in 4 for Lyon so far too.

So there are talents and potential options out there.

But it's a different thing doing it at Real Madrid and Barca to a low pressure EPL re-seller or Lyon.

A lot of people don't realise that when they speak about how we should cut the middle man and get talents early on before other smaller clubs get them. But many times this just destroy talents

That was true in the past and it's the best route for the player but not for clubs like Barca anymore. Now the smaller clubs got so rich (I'm talking about EPL) that they don't have to sell to big clubs anymore or they demand a ridiculous price.

Years ago it was normal that someone like R9 went to PSV before joining a top club, now talents like that (if they existed) have to be signed by Barca straight from Brazil. Get Eduardo or Bissiwu directly to our club because we won't be able to afford them if they explode in some EPL club.

You could argue that it is the same as it was ever been.

In the 90s it was PSV, Ajax, PSG.
The the 2000s it was Porto.

Nowadays it is the mid tier EPL gamblers club (Brighton, Brent, Bourne).

The difference isn't really that they are more expensive when you account for inflation, just that they are being sold EPL ready.

City paid 70m for Semenyo to isntinctly walk in and spunk out the goals.

While for us Raphi from Leeds was incredible output and worth every penny.

That is a totally different point.

PSV and Eredeviese were fairly rich and big when Ronaldo went there btw, different times before the Bosman laws changed football forever. Maradona arrived to Barca directly himself. There is always talents like this. Just like Estevao moving to Chelsea.

But those are select few, and reacting to market changes doesn't mean doing a classic mistake of rushing talents who aren't ready.

Barca getting someone like Rayan for 35M would have been a mistake, likely similar to Roque moving here. Brazilian clubs knows how to sell, players know their worth. Rayan won't go to Barca B for example.

We move to talents from lower markets who can't demand prime price tags, like Africa and rest of South America. Or taping talents to get them join Barca B (like Bisiwu) rather than renewals.

But it won't always work, because market is inflated not just by EPL, but other non European leagues. We lost Fabricio Diaz for Qatari club, plenty of talents go to MLS first, others like Ruud Nijstad and Dani Banjaqui prefer renewal (both are almost done). But it is sound strategy. You develop them in your youth teams.

Yep, I remember having a similar discussion with Cooter about Moleiro. I was saying that for big clubs, it makes more sense to pay the premium for these players after they make the middle step to Villarreal, Leeds, Brighton, etc., and prove they can have an impact at the highest level.

Not everyone will be a estavao.

Their will be more Endrick and roque's.

The issue is mostly monetary for us.

Had we budget, then you buy the Endricks and Roques, then send them straight on loan to develop to a solid Ligue1 or Eredivise club with a track record of bringing players through.

You can't say players won't want to take this route, as City off the top of my head literally got those two Argie talents (one flopped already) and Savio for this route.

In the case of Savio, he only made it at City because of this route and even failed initially at PSV. Were he brought straight to City like Vitor Roque was straight to us, he would probably be back in Brazil now.

So yeah, many playbooks but we can only activate one or two currently coz of budgetary limitations.

Players across board are reluctant to be bought and go out on loan if have good options.

They will get offered far more financially to go and play first team football in EPL vs being signed by a club to be loaned to lower level.
