He is by far Barcas most athletic midfielder and the way teams have been man marking Pedri and Frenkie while pushing a high line feels like Flick wants Frenkie to have more freedom to get ball in better areas to break that high line with a pass or a run more often.

He's been more than alright for many season, but sure last 2 seasons under Flick he's become much better - just like the rest of our team tbh.

He was Barcas best player after Messi in Koeman season and best midfielder in Spain and one of best in world when won league under Xavi.
If Frenkie doesnt get injured Barca win a double under Xavi and dont get hammered by Real in that 2nd leg.
Before he fucked his ankle in Xavi 2nd full season he was Barcas best player and top of league at start of that season. Midfield was never quite same.

Facts laddie.
Barca beat Real twice with Frenkie dominating middle of park in that Xavi season around that time.. then he misses 2nd leg and Busi/Gavi are chasing shadows as lose 4-0.
Xavi knows it.. Frenkie injury stopped a double there.
