4 - Ronald McDonald Araújo

Deco is backing Araujo to recover well but says the club have not put on a date on when the defender will play again.

”Araujo is doing well, he’s in his prime. I think he’s going to recover. It’s a specific moment and we’re not setting any date,” he told Què T’hi Jugues.
“It has to be a gradual process, recovering until he reaches his full potential.”

My take on the Araujo situation:

The fact that he picked up another red card isn’t surprising. He’s strong and athletic, but he lacks the ability to play smart when the moment requires it. Top teams know this, and he gets exposed, especially when Barca are already struggling on the pitch.

He’s a decent player. He can be a semi-reliable squad option, especially against mid-table sides where Barca just needs bodies to win and close the game.

But against the best teams in the world? I have my doubts — especially under Flick’s playing style. He gets exposed far too often, and elite opponents like Arsenal will specifically target that weakness. Not convinced that he can perform under that level of pressure.

What this essentially means is that Barça need a reliable, WORLD-CLASS centre-back — someone who is not only athletic but also smart in decision-making. Such an addition would ease the burden on the rest of the defence, especially on Araujo. But finding a defender of that profile and actually bringing him to Barca is not easy.

Dude is done in Barca, next summer we get ride of him. We can discuss all the stupid fuck ups he's done forever - but let's just take the Chelsea game... He was the captain (lol), rushed into the ref like a fucking idiot when a call was against us - 10/10 retard. Than a little later he chopped down Cucu, wasn't close to getting the ball - just pure stupidity. We can never trust him again - he can have his paus to "recover" mentally, but he won't recover because he's a hothead idiot. Deco should stfu and just lay the cards on the table, admit he was wrong - Ara isn't and never will be "professional" because he lacks footballing IQ and IQ overall. He's like a stupid dog that walks into walls, he's a fucking idiot!

Not to mention we keep saying he's strong and athletic (which we felt he was at the start), but how many times does he lose duels to smaller and slower players? Losing headers, losing physical duels and eventually fouling, losing his marker...

Even his strongest attributes on paper don't seem to manifest into anything on the pitch. For me, he is beyond done at this club.
