Have to also mention that a single bench player of Westham is probably worth more than entire current Sevilla football club so the achievements of modern PL clubs on global stage are less than underwhelming given their unfair financial advantage.
Spain seem to always been the poorest league of the top historical 5 and it's the two huge city states that have always dominated them. It's not that government has created special policies for that, it's that those two city states are the government.

LL is superior to PL historically (stature of clubs, European success at all levels, best players of all time, best teams of all time), and it won't change for the next 10-20 years unless there's a seismic shift and PL churns out a highly dominant or two side.

These things take a while to change. Serie A is still historically the best league (just slightly above LL) because of what they represented between 1980 and 2006ish.

Yeah, that too. It's interesting how people think that basically being a parasite to all the other leagues, who are literally forbidden to defend their markets from the "printing machine go brrrr" City Of London controlled bankster heaven, that is current PL, it makes them great league. All they do is what billionaires do, when buying up poor, indebted peoples lands and assets, because the later have no choice. England and english is still shit at football, no matter how much mystery meat mercenaries you buy or spanish, german and italian coaches you hire. And you don't even buy them with your own wealth, because you have none. You suck!
(sorry, i'm not a hater of english people (by which i mean native, white english people), but had to get this out of my system)

They should be called QATAR/ SAUDI/ AMERICAN PREMIER LEAGUE instead.
No amount of money will change the fact that they would still get ass whooping if they see a spanish team in the finals though

Yeah the funny thing is, English aren't exactly better at the ball but they are better getting investors. That's something Italy and Spain needs to do better to compete. I would take Spain and Italy experience and talent over England.

As we can see with Saudi and the Oil countries. Money will always attract the best talent.

The EPL is definitely the strongest and best league in the world at the moment but you have to remember what they had to do to get there.

I always laugh when EPL fans goad Barca about being 'broke'.

It's akin to the hooker with diamond earrings and a Gucci bag taking the piss out of the hard working girl at McDonald's who refuses to sell her ass.

Yeah, Barca isn't whiter than white, but at our worst moment we still didn't succumb to the foreign dollar.

By hook or by crook, Barca is still 100 percent member owned and that still counts for something. Whereas the EPL willingly lost all of its morals and doesn't have an ounce of dignity left.

European dominance of a fur coat, but with no knickers. :titi:

It's not that much that these oil arabs have taken over, but fact that City Of London (which is literal city state within a city, independent of any rules or laws of London or UK for centuries) is a crown seat of global international banking and finance cartel so they can decide which countries cand do what or not and print money on the whim too. None other state has such asset within it. Not that this feature benefit anyone outside the pedogarchy.

I would like to know how many PL clubs are still owned by english people, let alone club members (which is still customary in Spain) instead of single oligarch/int. corpo.

Barca had only 1 CL/EC before 2006. Only 2 Spanish teams have ever won the CL/EC. Everybody here trying to avoid these points because it doesn't fit their narrative. Nobody has a counter argument to this (they can't come up with one).

Real being the biggest European powerhouse doesn't mean the entire league is of that level. Madrid doing a lot of the heavy lifting here for the Liga.

Then Bayern should elevate the Bundesliga more because of their consistent success and stature.

The PL has 6 different EC/CL winners. 6!

And England NT's success is irrelevant in this conversation because Spain have only 1 World Cup in their entire history and Italy and Germany are way ahead of Spain and England anyways. Even France is.

Some of the arguments here are hilariously dumb and low IQ. Just because Real or Barca were the best team in the world at a certain point, doesn't mean La Liga was the top league at that point. Doesn't work like that. A league has 20 teams and the La Liga is comically top-heavy. Was Bundesliga the best league in the world in 2020 and 2013 then?

Spain isn't anywhere near Germany and Italy as an international powerhouse historically lmao. Spain have only 1 World Cup ever.

Even France is far ahead.

Ofcourse the success of these national teams is irrelevant in this conversation but your point makes zero sense because Spain and England are way behind the other 3 in this metric.

By that token so were Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle, Villa, Forest and numerous other teams at their best at various points in history.
