On one hand I agree. On the other hand, you have to look at his other options.

Maybe he could have put Garcia in he back and started a Frenkie, Olmo, Fermin midfield.

Regardless, Flick needs to get the message now. This guy needs to get kicked out of this club ASAP.

Any game that Flick starts him from now on in and he costs the team, is on Flick.

This has to stop, this must be his last season. He fucked up against PSG, he played bad against Inter, he fucked us against Sevilla and now this?!?!? Nah, he burned all his bridges at this club - also, all his fuckups will affect him anyway. He's done, fuck off. We still have a chance at LL - he will come in handy since we're at least a CB short and Flick has to experiment with Martin and Kounde/Eric to find the right place for everybody. But his name has to be at the very top of our transfer list, he doesn't have a future here anymore... pushed the ref for a first yellow and than brutally tackled Cuc just moments later. Dude is a fucking idiot. Who the fuck gave him the captaincy?

Btw, he has a contract til 2031, doesn’t he? Looks like he’ll be serving up cheese burgers for us for the foreseeable future 🤩🤣

I just talked to my 10-year old son who's with his mother and didn't watch the game yesterday because he didn't have the channel and it was late. So I called him and he asked how did it go... I said, "not well - we lost 3-0, guess what happened" and his first response was, I kid you not "Araujo got a red card?" :lol: His next comment was "but dad, doesn't Ara always mess up when it REALLY matters?" :lol: Yes my son, he does :lol:

If we qualify for the next round of CL and finish top 3 in LL I would still give him another year no doubt - but he needs 2 new defenders (we have the rest, but they play in the wrong positions right now) and a CF. I want him to heave a season with some reinforcements and a Camp Nou at full capacity. I still trust Flick, after the Ara send of we had 0 chance - with 11 men and 2-3 subs we could have shaken Chelsea no doubt. Ara can't stay after this season, he won't be sold this winter - but if he's still here next season I'll take a break until we have a new coach/president/SD.

Sacking him will not change anything. Whilst it is 100% true his idealism is causing us to struggle sometimes I don't think finding a new manager will raise our level by much.

The fact is, at least last season, his tactics got the most out of a squad which is limited in some ways, and we are still only a point behind in LL.

Imo we should support him as much as possible with getting him the right players because we have seen what he can do when his tactics are clicking.

Yeah, I agree. One point that is brought up quite often on here is: if not Flick, then whom? Who would realistically do a better job of both winning titles and playing attractive football with the players at our disposal?

Perhaps a better question is who would even accept the job knowing that he’d have a transfer budget close to zero and half a team of youngsters.

One thing people don't understand is that even if Flick is sacked or walks himself next summer then we're unlikely to get the big name manager people crave.

It's more likely we go with another small name guy or take a punt on Cesc. Lucho is under contract until 2027 and we won't pay what PSG will ask to release him from it, if he even want to take the job right now. Maybe he want to take a few years before he want to return.

This squad have some serious issues. The entire backline is simply not good enough right now to start if you really want to chase a CL trophy.

They are good enough for La Liga since the level of the league have regressed after being picked apart by richer teams, but they cannot compete vs. elite teams.

Then you also need a top striker as Lewandowski and Ferran have declined and are average respectively.

I still remember how this guy Araujo couldn't man mark 37 year old Acerbi and cost us the game against Inter. Just wow, with defenders like that, who needs opposing attackers?

Agree with what you said. Its not like there are many clear options out there anyway that are waiting to take the job, we'd have to scout someone out and it would be more of a bet rather than a guaranteed improvement.

Yeah no, I don't want him sacked - at all. I'm just writing this at a time when some people actually want to...
I got angry yesterday because it was fucking written in the stars Ara would pick up a red and fuck us over a third time - but he also didn't have much choice. He still imo did 2-3 mistakes with his selection - Ara shouldn't have started (Eric should on CB), Lewa on the bench until second half (should have started Tuna for some press) and Rashy on LW - also, Olmo on CM or AM because he actually played well last 2-3 games and we needed somebody to help Frenkie out.

I don't want him sacked and I hope he stays... if we can sell maybe Ara and some Masia kids + better FFP now when we got Camo Nou going (and also Lewa of the books). We need 2 defenders and a new CF - depends on who we get, but that's like 100ish million and than we get some cash from Ara and maybe 2-3 more. It's not impossible at all, next season we should be in a better place economically.

Yeah I said "Flick out" at some point yesterday, but I was emotional and didn't think straight. With 11 players and some subs we could have turned it around yesterday no doubt - we always much better in the second half.

Who will pay for him at this point? We won't receive any good offers from clubs he would agree to go to, unless he is fine with going to the Gulf or something.

There was a point where he was demanded in the market but that has long passed, we have trusted him long enough that we have displayed his flaws to the world.

We might get an offer of 10-20M, that and to get him of the books would be a win. Either way, after so many fuck ups he's burned all the bridges - I think even he understands it. He probably knows we'll use him every now and there in LL - we have to make do. But after next summer he won't get one minute more and we have to make him understand that so he can gtfo.
