Poor game.

About only one that looked like could take the ball under pressure at times but too many sloppy moments also.

Others like Kounde/Araujo/Fermin/Lewa/Ferran couldnt even have the decent moments

Utter dross.

Not our biggest problem but he is a bit of a nothing player. Not really a defensive mid, not really much of a creator. Only excells at keeping the ball and playing it safely sideways.

Reminds me of Arthur who was like a crippled version of Xavi. Excellent at keeping the ball under pressure, twisting and turning, up until that point looked like Xavi. But then nothing but a sideway pass to the fullbacks followed.

His fan boys will get there panties in a twist for this, but a conversation around his performances in big European games needs to be had.

He's been here for however many years now, and been involved in all our European loses & embarrassment and one thing is common in all of them is our midfield getting completely overran and his fans blame everyone for it, but him.

Its busquets, gundogan, Garcia, Pedri, Gavi, olmo's fault. never the 85m euros player who is the highest paid player in our midfield and who should be in his prime.

But they will tell you, oh he played well vs Napoli and had a good game vs inter, that we concede 7 against with him as the "DM". (He did play well again inter). As if that's some kind of achievement given how long he's been here and involved in basically every disaster night with him never once standing up and being counted.

He's supposedly world class, (he's definitely not) but you can never turn to him in high pressure situations, when you need your midfield to help play you out of high pressure games.

He's not a bad player, but he's just so freak bland, as vanilla as they come and everyone in midfield constantly gets scapegoated by his vocal fanboys but him
