Facts. Madrid is not the same team. Much weaker. But at the end it doesn't matter. If we win the league again with as low as 85 points nobody will care. 1 more big title is major for Flick's tenure. Titles are the most important for a club of our stature. Just make sure you win the league if Madrid continue to struggle.

Part of Barcas job is to keep pressure on Real and not allow them to play largely pressure free in league while Barca compete with Girona for 2nd.

Dont think Real have declined much but teams in Europe/Barca/Ateltico have got better.

Real were there for taking in home game in league and were extremely fortunate to get by City in CL and then even final v Dortmund.

Far from a top Real team that year but found a way.

I already claimed my L for first clasico loss. That prediction was made before all the injuries. Out of principle I let the prediction stand.

I was one to defend the rayo performance at time and posted this month ago

Not true

When I made the prediction initially and you acknowledged it, it was before joan garcia, raphinha and Balde gotten injured.

But I didn’t want to adjust prediction week before clasico out of principle, I said at the time as well. I claimed L after the clasico accordingly.

But I also increasingly started liking our chances in mean time and Real issues became more apparent. So I made the statement I just quoted hours after having lost that clasico.

I agree, 23-24 Madrid was way too exaggerated in being a top top team that season. I remember they needed very controversial refereeing decisions to get past Almeria at home and they struggled big time to win against us in both Liga Clasicos. They perfected the art to win points against the smaller teams and that added with the fact we managed to lose points every time they lost points, made it easy for them to win the league.

Won it with great football. Infinitely better than La Liga we won under Xavi.
