Yeah, these are the old 1957 pillars. Sure you could cover them, but I don't think they look bad. They give the old traditional feeling. This stadium unites the past and the future and I think it's good you'll see both of them.

Could be intentional to show the history as Loki says.
The roughness is just cosmetic and easily fixable. Even a coat of paint will do wonders to freshen it up, if they don't want to smoothen the surface.

Maybe will be done in the future, during summer or so when lower priority stuff can be taken care of.

I think it's just not finished. Even if it's history, they already put the paint on the left side in the picture. It's fresh and shiny blaugrana. Doesn't make sense to leave the other side in this state, also there are cables hanging.

Think those pillars will be left pretty much as they are with not much cosmetic changes, to show the contrast old vs new. I don't have a problem if only those pillars are left to show this is the same old stadium, not a demolition and rebuild someplace else as other clubs usually do.

If more of the old structure shows its age in more places, the effect is lost. Keep it in that area as focus point and clean up the rest. Should be the effect we're looking for.

I think it looks pretty nice for this stage.

This is exactly the case - this was discussed in some of the YT videos that have been covering the construction. I had picked up on this months ago as well but Club intended to maintain a blend of old spine of Camp Nou + modern support & exoskeleton

Ideal really, the view & feel of Camp Nou is assured this way
