No one can overcome bad spending or barely spending. It's not just his fault obviously because he was dealt a bad hand, but it's critical for the club to be able to invest big time very soon.
At the minimum this squad need a new #9, good FB depth, new starting CB or even two depending on players leaving.
On top of this Dani Olmo is looking more like an Andre Gomes or Arda Turan type of signing so he's an issue as well.

Wont be surprised if Flick walks at the end of this season if it ends trophyless.
Depending on how EPL goes, might be some top EPL jobs available for him where he can actually spend money of transfers and build a team and not continue to deal with Laporta's BS on how the club will be able to spend money next year like he has been preaching for the last 3 years.

RM has all the money and success in tge World, and yet when they were losing last year, they almost walked out of CDR final to shift the blame. All while dedicating their media for the past 3 years to talk about referees and Negriera.
He isn't a GF of ours, he is a club president. Blame him for results, finances, transfers. But lies? Come on now. It is life norm in those jobs.

Well, it was clear as day we needed proper backups for certain positions, but also many players level has dropped from the previous season. That's maybe the biggest issue.
Laporta MUST make signings in January. Otherwise we are screwed. We need some fresh bodies now. Not sure how they could pull it off, but we need new players. The team is way too thin as it is.

Laporta is currently on his knees trying to amend his relations with UEFA after the Superleague failure.
Figo is a advisor to UEFA so yeah.
