Also, all of these Laporta fans should be reminded that it was same Laporta who got Stegen his new contract.

Laporta cooked this situation both with contract and with his inability to register players and now having to bicker with Barca player over if it's 3 or 4 months injury time.

Didn't even keep it private and now entire squad is affected and Barca name once more dragged through the media mud.

Now that he wants to stay and compete with Garcia and Tek it's no good?

Goes to show that he called the club's bluff and didn't want to sign on fake reports that would keep him out for longer than it is needed.

What are these rumors really? That his agent informed Flick he is ready to start matches again? How is that disrespectful?

Seems that it is another Bravo type story. Stegen being bought as no 1, getting injured, playing second fiddle for two seasons and people still calling him a cunt for it when he rightfully said he would leave for a club were he would be a starter.

I understand people getting upset over some of his performances, or because he is not Courtois or Neuer(but that's what you get for 12M I guess). But otherwise the guy has been a model professional at Barca.

Club told him they want to move on.

He should either have left this summer or stop being a bitch and bide his time and leave in January.

Its really badly handled by both sides.
The club should just have said Ter Stegen was not in their plans anymore and that should have been it.

But Ter Stegen also acted like a twat coming back from injury demanding to get play the CL games again after Szczęsny had done it really well and then throwing a hissyfit afther he didnt get to play.
Ter Stegen is ONLY saying its 3 months so he can fuck up the clubs registrations out of spite acting like a spoiled brat.

He wasn't going to be playing due to his injury and after that also probably as Garcia is here. So he never was going to wear the armband anyway.
Club making a public statement was level of a petulant child.

Could have easily be dealt without further dragging this through the mud and media.

If there is anything to win, someone please point out, would be curious to hear.

Lunin done it better than Tek and Courtois took his place in the final no problem. But at Barca it all turns into a circus if the starting GK and captain of the team says to the manager he is ready to start games.

Some in here even cooked up scenarios how Tek lost morale because of it. :lol:

As far as the rumors are concerned, I was referring to Stegen refusing to consent to his medical report being shared with LL and/or Stegen claiming that his injury duration is 3 months instead of 4 months (knowing fully well that his injury could be used to register another goalie if the injury duration lasted 4 months.

His agent informing Flick that he is ready to start matches in a couple of months is passive aggressive IF the rumors are true. If they are, he will obviously never play for the club again.
The fact that he lost hos captaincy signals that this is the case.

What is strange, however, is that the club “temporarily stripped him of his captaincy. Why use the word temporarily. Hmm

As a legal safety net. This way stegy can't use the communicado in court to hold the club accountable for acting in bad faith because it's not something permanent, only temporarily while the disciplinary case is being resolved.

Ter Stegen’s actions have little to do with medical autonomy since he publicly disclosed his recovery in absence of club or medical report alignment - unprecedented, as was his refusal to sign off on the medical report (1st in Liga history)

It’s a response to being replaced by Garcia, no Barça player much less Captain ever deliberately undermined club in this manner

He took the nuclear option, says more about him than club or Laporta

I agree with you. However, if a player isn't wanted by a club anymore and has any kind of ambition and self respect he would negotiate his way out. This just shows how toxic person Mats is. Furthermore, he showed ZERO ambition to finally start for Germany NT during the next WC. In contrast, when Neuer was still playing he was bitching 24/7 how he should be a starting GK.

Regarding Laporta and our management board, the main obstacle for returning to 1:1 rule is Camp Noun renovation. However, the stadium works are seriously delayed due to issues with the existing concrete structure, which had to be reinforced. It’s very hard to place the blame on Laporta or the club’s management for that.

The truth is that situation is horrible once again but this is probably the last summer we are witnessing this kind of a shit show. Until summer of 2026 all stands should be finished and than only the roof remains to be completed.
