1 - Marc-Andre ter Stegen

If Stegen didn't disrespect the club at the end of last season... this is handled in a more cordial manner.

I remain partial to the idea that club should not get in a position to ditch average players with huge ego and 3 years contract left. Players who achieve this position in the squad have to be very good.

You maybe tolerate this from top class players, not average ones that nobody wants. When we wised up and realized we badly need a better keeper, he is in a too good of a position to be moved easily.

There are penalties for that. Stegen fecked up repeatedly. He is no saint.

If it was a player who didn't act up in a bad way towards the manager... then yes, club should be fair and play nice when looking for a way out.
On the bolded part, I agree. If rumors are true, Mats has acted like a total D.

My point is that I don’t think it’s an effective strategy using the press against players on sky high wages who don’t want to leave. Of course no one is going to give up a lucrative contract unless it can be matched elsewhere, especially not 33 year old injured goalies.

I think it's effective, but nasty.

Ter Stegen maintains his desire to return as captain and estimates he will be back in a period of 2-3 months. @santiovalle

Yeah I don't know about that chief.
He just leaks this information to trigger Barca more. He just wants confrontation at this point, because he's salty and mad. He is completely done at the club. Barca using the word "temporary" only to avoid feeding into MAtS lawyers and defuse the situation a little bit for the public. Everyone and their dog knows, he'll never be captain again or wear this shirt.

Besides, you never attack a player like this unless he is a problem player and not willing to move otherwise.
We were pretty nasty to FDJ too. Obviously he wasn’t gonna move to another club without being compensated (seeing as his contract is sky high).

I remember only mild stuff. Did the club even have an official statement against De Jong?

Any clear situations? Nope. He came into the team soon after he didn't want to leave. Imo club fancied the move, he didn't, and situation didn't get too hot for me.

Was within limits.

Truly shows how pathetic the management is at this club.

After all the atrocious humiliation on the field we suffered with this guy, any other top club would have booted him years ago.Yet Barca put him on a massive salary, made him captain and even renewed his contract.

Can't stand this clown but Barca enabled him.

One top season in the league and we were hook, line and sinker, gave him 5 more fucking years.

Another feather in the cap of Flick. Took him 1 season to make Raphinha a leader and bin the fake one, who also happens to be a fellow German.

How old are you, 10?

And absolutely yes to the bolded part.

You are naive child.

Close, 10 and a half.

But apparently less naive and more level-headed than you, who throws blames around without having full context, and believing everything dumb journos say.

what evidence do you have that he tells tells them what to say? It's all speculation to fit your hater narrative.

And for the record, I've criticized Laporta too for running his mouth more than he should so I'm not a blind fanboy of his.

There are levels to it. I agree. But going behind the back of a player and outing him in the Catalan friendly press, essentially accusing him of mooching while the club is going through economic hardship wasn’t exactly friendly either.

Did Laporta ever do it to any Catalan players? Alba? Busquets? We are or were paying them a fortune too even after they left. Not saying Laporta didn’t do it; I just didn’t hear anything about it if he did!
