What I don't seem to understand is how badly he's damaging his reputation and career with all of these theatrics. He is still not old for a GK and he could easily fight to be at the NT if he decides to join another team and revamp everything. His stubborness is going to destroy his career.

He has a contract so of course he has the right to stay if he wants.

But when he refused to address the fans in the last home game of the season and has been butthurt over the Joan Garcia signing, those things are not acceptable.

It’s his right to stay. Club’s right to essentially not even count on him as a backup.

If he’s fine with that then no problem. He has no right to act like a bitch though.

We'll he didn't choose to get badly injured last season. And he can't do much in finding a team when his back seems to be fucked and club suddenly decided he is no longer needed. He could try to leave in January though.

He has a contract, and we are bound to pay him. Ya, it's up to him.
But we are also not bound to play him. He can sit on the stands.

So I don't see the issue here.
He's the one who's throwing hissy fits. If you are not happy, then leave.
Or you sit on the stands.

You get your money.
We get a much much much better player on the pitch & bench.

If he's injured and our and "independent" doctors says he needs a surgery, than he needs one and can get one.
After that, again our doctors and independent doctors say when he's ready with physiotherapy and than "real" training etc.
After that he needs to attend trainings and we need to let him train with the group - otherwise one of us breaches the contract.
Playing or being a sub is on the other hand not in the contract - we can put him in the stands after he "recovered" from his injury until end of his contract... if he comes to the trainings and we let him train. If we don't allow him to train with the group we're in breach of the contract and if he doesn't show up he's in breach if the contract - in both instances the contract is off and the full amount is to be paid to Stegen if we fuck up or we can fire him without paying his full contract if he fucks up (in simple terms, it's a little bit more complicated than that - but that's the sum of the cardamom).

That's pretty much the situation right now if he doesn't want to listen to offers.

1. It seems the club had a change of heart when Garcia became available. In April/May they were happy doing video interviews with Stegen before his return.

2. Probably they didn't communicate to him the situation but the smearing campaign already started in the press.

3. What are these hissy fits we are talking about. Did he say anything bad about the club or Garcia?

Players do have the right to manage their own recovery, it's unusual but there are occasions where players prefer to work with their own medical teams rather than those of their clubs.

Although I don't know what this is about, just seems like there is some drama behind the scenes and they are putting out whatever scraps of news they have about him.

Probably. Or maybe they changed their minds after the "reports" of him not addressing the fans.
It doesn't really matter, if their is a better player available, almost every player is expendable to the club. This is how it is.

Not saying the club is guilt free. But we all know how this club works & the politics behind it. So its not a surprise.

Cant give you all the ones. But the refusal to address the crowd was one.
And tell me one time, a player publicly announced when he will come back, or going to a surgery before the club even announces it.
These two situations comes in my mind.

Could be more.

You haven't even been updated on the events of the last 3 months

1) His agent was calling club to say he is ready to play before the important last stretch of the season to put pressure on Flick to bench TEK

I am sure the moment this happens, he was already done by Flick

but then, the entitled cunt also:
2) refused to address the fans
That's when he was also done in the eyes of Deco and Fatporta. That's around when the first rumors about Joan Garcai started to emerge. No accident really, it was when the club decided to go for him

but this is just a few instances of his CUNTiNESS, which was always in him.
He always had his buddy as GK coach, always protected by everyone, and entitled AF, because no one ever kicked his ass properly

To be frank, his character was evident even in his 1st season, when, after he played only CL because Bravo was playing LL, he demanded Bravo to go so he can start every game.
If the club was not run by a circus, he should have been sold that very moment

FLICK saved us YET AGAIN
