LW market isn't really booming. The top transfers so far this summer are

42m - Baena
25m - Noa Lang
24m - Adingra
22m - Jesus Rodriguez
20m - Diomande
There will obviously be more movement in coming 5 weeks like Lucho Diaz, but would you have liked to signed any of these?

I have made quite a few threads regarding LW targets.
Out of all these, only Lookman would be an "upgrade". You can add a few if you like.
Most of them are squad players at the moment, and would cost a similar amount to what we paid for Rashford. Nusa, Ben Seghir etc.
I would have been happy with Nusa. But he will at least cost 40m, with having a history of injury. Do you really say, they were better deals than Rashford?
Same can be said about Noa.
Would settle for lesser wages to play here.

In other times Jesus Rodriguez or Diomande would be worth a punt but club was clearly looking at proven players who can perform immediately knowing we already have a team with a lot of kids and some more upcoming though none of them at LW unless Virgili will make it - I like him but very unlikely - or if we'll transition one/a few of Roony, the Fernandez bros or Diarra to play there but that will take time too to adapt. And pushing them before they are ready would do them more harm than good anyway. Even more so if they would be "promoted" and then get the Ansu/Pau Victor treatment.
Noa Lang. 25m + low wages (well we know Napoli will have him on 2-4m, double that with us) is a good move.
Fits the profile, reaching or at his prime.
Other than that, all those names are either potential or miscast as in the case of Baena.

Dude, we fucking suck with contracts - even if Lang is on 1-2M now we would give him 8ish million straight away. We only give our youngsters coming through Masia below 2, but than after 1-2 alright seasons they jump to 3ish mill or even more. Which imo is alright, no fee and playing the "Barca way" and having a big heart for the club - Casado is on 600k, should get a new contract with better salary this season already.
