Marcus Rashford

One trait that he has that our forward line lacks is blistering pace. Not sure if it has declined over the years but it can be an asset in flick's system. Not only will he be lethal during our transitional play but also help get back and defend when the opposition counters.
As an illustration, the video shows him starting from his own box and running the length of the pitch and getting to the opp end before anyone else. Apart from the two blancos, I don't know if there is any attacker faster than him in La liga.

Another example. Gets off his marker in a flash. Don't think any of our attackers can replicate that.

I know there are multiple aspects to the game and I'm perhaps being simple minded. But with Rashford's pace we could be producing more goal scoring opportunities on the break as well as receiving help in defense.
Rashford's pace and Yamal creativity and we could be onto something.

Flick should try incorporating him in the first XI to see it materialize.

This is assuming he adapts well, and work hard. Not a fan of English players, so I never really paid attention to this speed demon, I haveta confess.

Raphinha is super quick, just not with the ball.

Faster than the Englishman? A quick search on the internet shows Rashford has a higher top speed. Unless someone can provide a reliable source that says otherwise.

The football erudites on here have already discussed this aspect of Rashford. So I'm mostly stating the obvious and while I was aware he was fast but not this fast. Never pay attention to English players..like that gawky looking Cole Palmer everyone's going gaga over. I know he's good but I wouldn't care to know what's his best quality. Nothing can get me to watch them with a keen eye.

I just think when you have an elite trait, you'd rather exploit it more often than not. I'd rather two quick forwards than one. It grates me to see our striker fall on his ass or be outpaced by the defender when trying to get to the ball. I hope Lewa is slowly phased out, with Raphinha and Rashford alternating between LW and CF.

Every team must have shit scouts then because Arsenal signed Madueke for 60m, Bayern want to spend 70m on Luis Diaz and Liverpool might end up spending 100m on Rodrygo lol.

Strange with all the money these Prem clubs are throwing around how is it none of them made a serious pass at Nico before he renewed?

Rashford is faster. You just said in your initial post that "one thing our forward line lacks is blistering pace," and I meant to point out that Raphinha is a transition demon that we already have, but Rashford will be a welcome addition (and much needed too). Ferran's top speed is also quite good, I think it's around 36 km/h, but he doesn't seem as fast on the pitch. That's why he scored so many goals off the defender's shoulder last season (and will continue to do so).

Palmer is quality, he is a technical wizard while also being athletic af thanks to his lanky build + long legs. The most technical player England has produced in a long time.

Remarkable the vitriol surrounding the player in UK, despite the lunacy of the entorno his arrival will be a welcome relief from being hounded by English media

He’s never shown any attitude problems off/on the pitch that deserves the disdain & bitterness from ManYoo fans or former players but that is an English thing

He is versatile and when motivated, a difference maker - it’s a confluence of different factors that can work quite well in Barça’s favor should he do well. If he doesn’t, no harm no foul - he leaves next June

There is zero doubt that he will get minutes (provided he doesn’t get injured) as the attacking front line logged heavy minutes with little to no rotation

The best story to watch will be the shifting narrative in UK between now & October/November on his progress and by March they will be beside themselves I predict - trying to spin the move in a more favorable ManYoo light. The Wenger quote may be fake but I see it similarly, he is a scorer off the bench who adds pace that was not in the squad last season and can play anywhere in that attacking front line

If only we had gotten Ansu to leave in January, he’d have already been here and perhaps we would’ve gotten it over the line vs Inter
