25 - Wojciech Szczęsny

Horatio

You're welcome
Okay buddy, which theory is this buddy?

The afraid of Spanish defenses theory or the he doesn't think he's good enough theory? Lol

U make no sense. Even if I did claim he’s afraid, how is that two theories separate?
It comes down to same thing, not believing in himself at barca.

If I had 5 theories as you claim, at least pick two that are far apart to drive home point.

I am thinking that Joan may get loaned out. That is, unless Stegen leaves.
No chance of Joan going out on loan, otherwise he would never have accepted the offer from us. He got guarantees to be the first keeper, 100%. MAtS will definitely leave after Flick talks with him. He won't end his career on the bench/stands for a few million. Not to mention his decade old dream of representing Germany in the WC next year.

four keepers

And counting
Bro relax, the transfer window is just a week open. The club has nearly 2 months to build the squad.

To the 2 years extension: I think Tek demanded it to give his family at least 2 years to stay in the city. His family wasn't too excited to move around every year probably. It's okay as long as he plays for a low wage. He'll be good enough as second keeper for 2 years no doubt.

Could be that you’re right! Could also be that TS refuses to leave because no one is willing to match his current salary. The issue that we often seem to face is that Barcelona is a beautiful city, unparalleled status playing for our club with sky-high salaries and great weather. Few cities/clubs are able to match all of these qualities.

Great when attracting players to Barca. Not so great when it’s time for them to pack up and leave.

Is he Germany’s best keeper atm?

MAtS is 33, next year's WC he'll be 34 and that's his only and last chance to play the WC for Germany as a first keeper. He waited for this for a decade until Neuer finally stepped down. Nagelsmann already said he's the first keeper, but only as long as he keeps playing. And he didn't play for a year already, if he keeps sitting on the bench/stands, his NT career is finished and club most likely as well.

With 33/34, he's too young to not care about playing time but too old to wait for it on the bench. And how much more overall salary he'll gain staying at Barca is also questionable, if his career ends after 2 years in the stands. If he continues to play, he still can easily play another 5 years.

Given that Flick will tell him that Garcia is the number one keeper, I see absolutely no chance that he will stay.

Currently yes.

Who do you think will be interested? And does he strike you as the type of player who would take a salary cut in order to be the #1 goalie for Germany at the WC?

I don't follow the international scene close enough to know who might have an interest. Italian teams most likely. With 33, you're still in the talent range over there. And again, I don't really think it'll be a salary cut overall, because he either continues his career elsewhere or ends it at Barca.
