Okay but that release clause lowers every years.

Alik implied nico would be stuck at Bilbao for long time with his new contract. I argued not necessarily. His release clause in 2 years would be getting around to what pay now. If top clubs truly interested would pay it.

Same Real Madrid chasing Mbappe like an obsessed person for around 8 years. They got done so wrong back in 2022 and it’s the same to what happened to us. Except he’s Mbappe and in his prime, and ours is Nico and he’s not all that.

Like you say I think he's had that offer on the table a while.

I think Barca would be his first option and that's why Athletic also wanted to challenge the possibility of us signing him, thus eliminating Nico's first option so he would stay.

There was probably a number he wanted from Bilbao, they were hesitant to meet.
He used us, they folded and gave it to him, and he signed.

In a way, he had Bilbao as his number one option, but as long as they meet a certain demands.
Barca was plan B, he negotiated with us, with hope to get Bilbao to give him what he wants, and if not, he joins.

Again, it makes no sense to sign 10 year contract, with 100M RC, in the 4th day of the official transfer market, because Barca didn't give him guarantees on 3rd of July.

Except they were dealing with PSG who don't sell their players and he is one of the best players in the world who has no equivalent and PSG paying him a fortune.

None of that is relevant to Nico. There are many options for LW players out there all of whom are equal or better than Nico who could have been easily bought in with good planning.

You’re acting like Bilbao didn’t try everything possible to prevent Nico from going to Barça. They went as far as asking LaLiga to monitor Barcelona’s finances which has never been seen before from any club we tried to buy players from.
