14 - Pablo Torre

What did he do in them exactly? That he is good in set pieces?

He didn't show anything special, otherwise Girona would have extended the loan.

2 goals vs Sevilla, assist and goal vs Villareal away... he did many good things in the few minutes he played.

Great deal if true.

Mallorca have reached a personal agreement with Pablo Torre, with a deal between clubs now close. The two sides are finalizing terms for a 50% ownership transfer valued at €5 million. Barcelona will retain a buy-back clause, expected to be set between €10 and €12 million.[DiarioAs]
We probably won't buy him back - but 50% on future transfer would be nice. He'll probably end up mid-table EPL 2 seasons from now for around 30M. That's another 10M and we need to think about Masia's reputation - even if players don't make it in Barca, we won't make their lives and careers difficult just to make an extra million or two. We do that and many will think twice about joining us... Let them choose where they want to go if they don't make it with us, make some future % - and hopefully everybody ends upp happy'ish.
We didn't do Torre dirty really, but I also think he should have gotten' more minutes - if he want's a move to a LL team for now than alright, we shouldn't be a pathetic and petty club like those bitches in Bilbao for example.

Oh, please, give me a break here.
The Sevilla game was 3-0 when he was subbed in the last 15 minutes.
Villarreal was one good game (and for that matter, it was the entire team) which was a career game for someone who is the same age as Pedri. Such game is the reason we are getting any money for him, otherwise he is a "sell for free and percentage" we typically get for La Masia mediocre talents.

Yes, but he didn't get much game time where he played poorly. Salah was a Chelsea reject after all, there's always a chance some players make it after not being trusted much and then as a club you need to keep options on the table. It is good we have options to get him back if Torre proves hinself.

His situation is unclear atm.

Oh please we've seen players do less and get sold for more, all the time

Nico Paz to como 6m euros and 50% sell on clause and 9m buyback.

But we should be happy with 5m for Torre.

And that's just a easy one I remembered off the top of my head, if I use the wonderful powers of Google I'm sure I could come up with a lot more, because they happen all the time.

It's a shitty deal, he's a 10-15m euros player minimum, and still with a sell on clause and reasonable buyback.

We got 10m for Faye ffs who was playing in the 3rd division.

Quansah , who is the same age as Torre, has just gone to Leverkusen for 35m EURO.

When you consider there are far worse examples of us selling players too cheap than even Torre, you have to conclude that we are just not very good at selling.

Yeah you're probably right - 5 for Torre and 35 for Quansah is a bit off.

Quansah fee is inflated because it is part of the Wirtz deal.

Liverpool also sold someone to Bournemouth in the same way.

It is nothing more than us buying Neto for 28m or so, or selling Arthur for xxx and buying Pjanic for 60m ish.

I wouldn't look much into these type of deals as they don't represent the true value of the market.

Pablo Torre is good. But he failed at Girona and lacked minutes for us last season. The art of the sale, for a footballer, is selling unspoilt potential. Torre is spoilt and now slots onto the other category- an undervalued asset.

His sales value will only increase after and if, he hits it off at another club post Barca.

Nico Paz was 20, not 22. He wasn't expiring iirc, he didn't fail in 1st division.
So, 1M difference is actually very warranted.
As @Porque said, Torre is a spoiled potential. He is a failed Girona player on expiring contract.

Different types of clubs are interested in Torre and some of the others mentioned here.

Mallorcas of this world are not paying 35m and more.

That difference reflects how these players are valued and reflects their current status. Torre doesn’t attract upper echelons of clubs.

If we would want to maximize his value would need to renew and loan him to some BL team for example where players stats are often getting inflated. Hopefully he would put out a double digits assists season and add 5-7 goals and then would generate more interest next year. But his price would maybe increase for 5-10m rather than 15-20m. And OTOH he could also not do as well as expected on loan and we wouldn't even get the offers we have now in 12 months. So probably not a risk worth taking especially in a situation where the club needs every million.

Failed first division player is just adding a tag of non sense
We've seen "failed" first division players who are young with potential get sold for more.

Again oh please, at times you try to play the devil's advocate a bit too much and end up just spinning.

We just suck at selling, but it's nothing new.

We'll make some money on the back end.

Chelsea would have sold him for 50m euros easy lol
