Can you quote that? Might be, probably got overboard dealing with all that Xavi hate which was intoxicating around here at the time.

Beating Porto and Napoli, or Benfica and this season's Dortmund is not a miracle. Inside expectations normally as far as CL results go. Inter and PSG are a clear step up.
Here it is, you said 'even CL QF is a notable achievement' instead of miracle :
Also, @Porque, yes, this is how "low" (to me that is not low at all) our standards have dropped. Winning a league title is no longer easy when our main rival is racking up CLs like crazy, and making even a CL quarterfinal is a notable achievement.

As said, I really hope the team continues to deliver at least at this level in the future. To improve on it without hundreds of millions of investments would be a dream for me. If the next manager does that, for me he's an instant hit.

You don't know what you're talking about. His system is making players better, but you need top players for it. Quite simple to understand this if you put a minimum effort into it. The players that cost us before Flick, the poor depth, they are costing us with him as well. Barca have a very talented team and a top first 11, but the squad is thin. To go from this to saying the team is not that good and Flick is doing miracles with it is absurd.

He is maximizing the team potential no doubt, but this is Barca level potential. Don't smear the club and make it seem like Flick is performing miracles.

If this is not a miracle, i dont know what a miracle is. Sure if the standard is sth like Leicester wins Pl then yeah this not a miracle but then a miracle happens only 1 time in 100 years 🤣

I feel you heavily underrating Hansi, how many coaches would have done the same like he did here, i dont even think Pep or Kloppo would have managed to get these numbers

The one part I disagree with is linear progression to next season.

A lot of things came together for us this season that I don’t think will hold true next season.

Lewa will be even older. Raphinha will not put up 50 G+A while running 12 km every game.

The one upside is that RM will be dead tired after the CWC and we should be able to blast them early in LL.
If Flick doesn't get this run over the line we'd be waisting a golden chance that will not come along next season.

Bar some injuries, which up until now weren't decisive for us, we had it pretty good this season from a fortune point of view. Rivals in LL were shite, refs didn't fuck us over badly, in CL we got the easier side of the bracket etc.

We leak goals like crazy, go into relegation form in LL for a month and we're still winning this.

Credit to Flick and the team, hope they seize the opportunity.

CL QF is bare minimum or underperforming, not a notable achievement, really.
Generally true, but it depends on the draw.

Liverpool drew PSG in the R of 16 this season for example.

I think the broader expectation is that can we beat teams on a similar level to us (or higher) in CL KOs? Because that hasn't been true since 2016/2017 for Barca.

I agree with most of what Serghei is saying, but unfortunately I find it impossible to reconcile his new position with what he was saying at the start of the season.

He was claiming that making CL QF is a miracle and all praise be to Xavi for this miraculous achievement less than a season ago...

Now the squad is top level and this is where it should be!

Ive seen also on fb many guys who say suddenly playing for treble is a good achievment but Hansi didnt do anything special although same guys said if we get second spot in ll after Real bought Mbappe we can be happy after the season

We’ve conceded 61 goals this season, from 54 games. Prolly gonna end up around 70 by the end of season from 60 games.

In 14/15, it was 37 from 60 games.

In 10/11, it was 36 from 60 games.

A treble would be a true miracle. I don’t think any team who leaks this many goals (yes, we score a lot !!) can manage a treble.

Let’s see what miracle Hansi can do.

Wow forgot how good our defence was in 2011 and 2015 🤣

In that sense we are not quite there yet I feel, which is why I assume many fans don't think we will get the final tickets in Milano. Not our thing in the Champions League.

It is a very important match for us, something we almost never done before. We bottled more CL ties away than we sentenced.

It mostly comes down to our refusal to add physicality and shithousery as a weapon (not our main approach, but can do it when need to) to our game).

Since when has Barca shithoused a corner and scored a header to make it 3-3 in a CL KO game.

While the team with the greatest playing level in CL is probably 10/11 or 08/09 or 14/15 Barca, the perfect team for the CL format is 16/17 RM.

If all you care about is winning the CL no matter what, that is the template. Of course, don't forget to pay the refs too.
