I can't blame him, he fought to come here and he isn't given a fair chance.

If Xavi problem with him is positioning, then he should stay.
He is elite in moving without the ball, but that was in a counter attacking team.
He won't learn how to move in a team that has the ball 60% of the time if he gets loaned to a mid-table team.
Will be the best for everyone in such case to cut their loss and move on.

PS: Him, Inigo, Fermin aren't registered for next year.
Some rumours this is the case for Gavi too

If there's a team willing to pay us the 30m we paid for him we should sell him.
I'd much rather do that than loan him out. Loans can turn into a disaster very quickly.

If we don't think he is good enough and we got fooled in this transfer, a loan is bad. Loan is recommended only if he's very raw but still has solid potential.

Loans don't work in our case because we constantly unload average players or worse to get rid of their wages. Or, more recently, to not have to register the player.

How do you know he isn't given a fair chance? If he's not showing enough in training and the manager is not satisfied with his level he shouldn't play. That's quite fair.

You are talking from coach perspective, then yeah is true. But this isn't the discussion despite you having a kind of obsession to make it always about that :xavi:

From a player perspective, not giving an 18-19 years old player a chance to adapt in real games after bringing him midway in the season with after just coming of injuries?
I mean he signed a contract to sign from next season so he was willing to stay in Brazil if it fits us. He was open to whatever plan we had for him, then we bring him and say ops, that was the wrong one, let's plan another one.
Of course if this is the case, I won't trust the club.
Especially with many previous players who were loaned for a very bad fit for them, although this is a bit better now.

Biggest red flag around this guy was that there was no other top team interested in signing him. And even when he was in Brazil he was posting photos of him in a Barca shirt etc and saying how Barca was is first choice. Seems like he was dancing more for Barca because there weren't other options.

It's never the case these days with top talents. Many clubs will try to sign them. This guy seems to only of had Barca as his choice.

Complete disaster of a signing so far.

The manager is open to play very young players, as we have all seen. If he isn't playing Roque yet, it's probably because he doesn't think he is good enough at the moment. Maybe he is slacking off in training and/or not respecting tactical instructions.

OK. We brought him, but from there, his job is to convince the manager that he is good enough to play. If he's not doing that, he shouldn't play. There's no guarantees that you play if in training you don't make a case for yourself.

I agree. say whatever about xavi but trusting young players might be his best attribute. If Vitor had showd him anything he would have gotten minutes.

I just hope he doesn't have behavior issues or severe technical/tactical limitations. That would be very disappointing. If it's just adaptation period, it's fine. We should be patient with him.

Again, you are talking from coach perspective which isn't what I discussed. No need to repeat it.

No, even from player perspective. What happened before you come to a big club is one thing, to convince the manager once you get there is a separate phase. It's totally up to Roque to improve in training and get official match time. The club still has to secure no2 spot so can't use him just like that if he's not able to do well. He played vs Cadiz and did nothing.

No, it isn't.
He has done everything the club asked him before, and the manager problem is his positioning (his words not mine) while everyone knew you are coming from a counter attacking team. So loaning him makes zero sense for him, he won't learn Barca way outside of it.

This is simply a miss communication within the club. As you say the coach has a point, but the player should look for himself in such a case.
If the coach isn't convinced and he will be stuck in a situation not good for his development.

Anyway, it is all just rumours atm.

Brazilian signings usually need time to adjust to European football regardless of whether it's Real Madrid or Olympiacos. Something about the tactical development in Brazilian football is different or might say flawed.

European football adjusted to Vinicius pretty well.

I'm almost 100% sure he won't be with us next season or ever again for that matter - maybe he wasn't the best, but I still think he was ok based on the matches I saw of him in Brazil. The problem is Xavi, the dude is an idiot.
