I remember seeing the old rumors with Pedri.
Xavi clearly wanted a Busi successor. I think his idea was getting Zubi and using him as a DLP pivot.
I think it was obvious Xavi didn't see or totally misprofiled Pedri that in his eyes if needed he is expendable.
Good thing we didn't sell him. It was pretty obvious Pedri was much better when he had the ball a lot more and not being shoved so far forward.

The reports are he wanted Lewa gone but Pedri was on a list of players would sell for big offer as not convinced on his fitness.
From Pedris comments post Xavi it does seem like there was friction on his fitness and reports at time Pedris surroundings were not happy with way he was dealt with while coming back from injury.
Xavi also quite clearly didnt know how to get best from Pedri either.

I am aware of all that but considering club tried to get rid of Frenkie…bit weird to think could’ve been scenario where both Frenkie and Pedri would not be at Barca that season anymore.

No you are not that aware as not the same summer.
This is being said to be the list Xavi gave shortly before punted not the summer of 2022 and selling Frenkie was always said to be club led and barely lasted a few weeks.
Xavi loved Frenkie and Frenkie was Barcas best midfielder in title win season and 23/24 before fucked his injury. That ship had sailed.

I know Xavi loved Frenkie, but club tried to sell him off. Then if Xavi thought Pedri lacking fitness for Barca he would try to have him gone regardless of Frenkie.
But correct on Frenkie issue being a season prior.
