Really bad first half, played much better in the 2nd, but still not good enough since the first half was a disaster. Some good passes that helped us get something from his game. All forwards have to do A LOT better to hope for at least matching the last season's result in CL.

What they did today doesn't even scratch the surface of what is needed. If this was an elite side, like a Bayern, this could have got ugly.

Low cross to Fermin for our only shot on target in the match (prior to pen incident) was from him.
Good cross for Lewa for the big missed chance was from him (our only big chance).
The through ball to Olmo in the pen situation was from him.

So, if the service for basically the only decent scoring situations we had in the game came from him, and he was indeed bad, what does this say about the rest of the attacking players?

I can only mean that most if not all deserve a rating of 1-5 / 10. The only ones deserving of a passing grade were Cubarsi and Martin.

The one moment of any real quality from an attacker was Olmo for that pen.

This is just insane relativization of his awful performance

He has seen by far most of the ball from Barca forwards. Likely because Yamal was surrounded and well guarded

He managed to do VERY little with it. Despite those things you mentioned none of them were some insane super moves. Passes to Fermin, Lewa & Olmo were pretty damn simple. It would be outrageous if he fucked that up as well

It has been unusually bad decision making and lack of directness from him. I won't even speak of how poor he was in link up play with other players, controlled so many balls very poorly

Regarding this I would also say some of the things Yamal has done in those big games he, for a general consensus, played very poorly in (and he did)... but at this point it's obvious standards for him are on another level compared to other players so it's not even needed to discuss

This wasn't one of those games Yamal saved the day. Yamal was even worse than Raphinha. In the pocket of his opponent the whole time, barely made anything worth remembering outside scoring the pen.

To be fair Hall is the much better full back than Trippier and had a good game.

Better in build up.

Raphinha did next to nothing and fucked up far better areas on ball as Newcastle gave him much more space.

Both were poor overall and Newcastle got better of them though as was case across the pitch really.
