Barca are feeding to media that Schlott is 'too slow' and 'letting Real sign if want' as if decided not move for him.

More likely he has turned Barca down than that and excuses in early.

Now its all about Bastoni.. could well be soon 'Bastoni was desperate for move but greedy Inter wanted too much'.

Senesi signed....'the one Barca always really wanted'

We don't have cash and we need a #9 also. I wouldn't be against getting Senesi on a free...

If we will have cash to spend this summer I think the split will be 80-20 towards a CF compared to CB. I'll be surprised if we sign a CB that is more expensive than the CF.

That's why hopes of Bastoni are very low imo. CB will have to be a market opportunity. Or we will just re-brand Christensen as a new signing.

I don't think we'll spend on a CF at all, apart from an insane market opportunity maybe. If we buy Rashford, that'll already be 30m+ his wage weighing down our small ffp margin and Flick most certainly will want at least 1 new CB and Fullback. Scoring goals isn't our problem and it won't be next season too. PSG won the treble without a CF. We still have Ferran and could give Lewa another year.

This season shows the priority is clearly the defense. We have enough players and our tactic favors us to score many goals anyways.

I hope so too but so far the rumours of CBs only come whenever we lose. Alvarez been mentioned more than any CB.

Lewy is clearly slowing down for real this season and Ferran has shown he is inconsistent and unreliable. Raphinha is, as expected, not replicating his tally from last season. It's a huge burden on Yamal to improve his numbers. That's why I don't think club will rule out a CF.

Absolutely need a CF.

A CF and a team that doesnt have to play hail mary putting so many players forward all the time with high/risk reward which leaves the midfield and defence exposed.

Better CF and more balanced approach needed and ideally one that makes it a bigger risk to the better sides to push high up park and press.

Wouldnt be surprised at all if it is Senesi and Vlahovic and more lies about what can spend.

It's Sport, but you get the gist.

Alessandro Bastoni prioritizes renewing his contract at Inter Milan, and therefore moves away from FC Barcelona, who saw him as an option for this summer's transfer window. [@sport]

FC Barcelona alternative to the signing of Julián Álvarez is Manchester City's Omar Marmoush. [@sport]

Yes, they didn't have a starting centre fielder. But they have a good number of quality offensive players. We only have Raphinha and Yamal who are world class. They have Dembélé, Doué, Barcola and Kvaratskhelia who are similar in ability. Ramos is on a par with Torres and Lewandowski. But let's not forget the massive offensive output of their wing-backs. We compensate for our lack of offensive quality and depth with kamikaze football. This works out sometimes, but fails miserably at others.

The obsession with Bastoni mystifies me.

A nothing player.

Never watched him play and thought, what a great player. Physically he has the same strength and pace levels of Gerard Martin, maybe slightly better on the ball at a push.

Not particularly good in the air. Not particularly agile. Not particularly great anticipation.

Been bang average for Italy as well.

So what's the fuss to pay 80m for ?

Calling it now. Bastoni comes here, he flops badly. And at 80m he can join the trio of Dembele, Coutinho and Griez, as one of our worst transfers ever.

Truth
Never watched him yet mystified by the links or interest in player, well played - doubling down on ignorance, certainly no shortage of that these days

Fortunately most realize sources like Grupo Godo are useless when it comes to Barça, especially of late - club is much better at keeping their actions below radar until things heat up than previously

You may or may not like Bastoni. That's legit. However comparing him to Martin in any way is just ridiculous.

The club will not rule out anything for obvious reasons, because if a big market opportunity arises, you need to take it regardless of priorities, like for example with Joan Garcia. The club wasn't actively looking to replace MAtS, but as soon as it became clear they had a huge chance to get a top and young goalkeeper for a ridiculously low fee, they didn't think twice.

But we don't lack goals, despite Ferran being Ferran and Lewy being older. Last season we had exactly the same amount of goals scored in LL (67) after 25 games, despite a younger Lewa, Rapha in ballon D'Or form and even a better Lamine. So Flick's tactic to score many goals continues to work in general, which makes me believe the club won't prioritize a CF this summer, especially because worldclass CFs cost a fortune we don't have. So better to keep waiting and reinforce more urgent positions. I think this will also be Flick's wish should he continue.
