I think people understimate just how awful his link up and hold up play is.

It usually becomes more evident in tough games when we need another outlet to play out of a press, and in those games, he becomes a turnover machine that is unable to do anything useful with the ball under pressure.
Against ATM for example their attackers brought unbelievable intensity to the game, and their midfield won most duels aswell.

In those situations it's incredibly valuable to have an attacker that can provide an outlet and help you bypass the press, and there are few strikers that are worse at just that than Ferran. He starts to look like an absolute amateur on the field once he's asked to receive the ball under pressure or combine with teammates.

He's a decent goalscorer, but as much as people underrate his ability to score goals, they also underestimate just how much of a bloody donkey this guy is in most other important facets of the game.

Like an amateur indeed, it's so obvious - trust me I don't underestimate how much he actually sucks Honestly, he isn't even good enough to be our backup - better to just get a cheap ass backup who specializes in one thing, like for example Luuk de Jong.

That list probably works in Torres favour if anything due to players on it.

For example he has two more misses than likes of Ekitike while playing over 200 less minutes in league and 400 minutes less overall.

He has clearly missed some sitters but so have the best attackers going.

More worrying when not getting those chances.

Can't be too critical of him, he's been over performing his mean this season.

Flick should have started with him on the left and lewa at CF vs atletico, he would have helped more defensively that olmo and maybe that would have made a small difference.

Fermin should have been LW and Ferran up top... although Ferran or Lewa up top is a bit of bum fight in recent weeks so could be either.

Fermin has the workrate and movement off ball to replicate Raphinha role better than anyone.

Fermin at AM was getting ball too much and playing far too high risk game when needed a bit of pause.

From there Olmo at AM and one of Bernal or Garcia in midfield even if it mean Gerard CB.
