Who said he doesn’t enjoy it? It’s a spectrum clearly.

I don’t think Kounde hates football, but could be that he prefers to be doing something else.

But my post was more of a reaction to your claim and I believe my point stands:

Someone who enjoys it more wants to be there rather than somewhere else, but it is more of an obligation. And I believe ultimately it will be a net negative on performance if they do. That does not mean that can’t still put in decent performance.

I agree and I said it a long time ago. His approach to football is probably one of the reasons he's performing like shit

Those who say he doesn't have ability forget who we are talking about. This guy was a beast at Bordeaux and Sevilla. Getting a little bulky does affect your performance but can't erase all of your football ability

Flick must be a complete idiot for making this guy one of the players with most minutes in the entire team.

According to posters here he should be getting Araujo minutes and yet the only time he doesn't play is when he is rested, suspended, or injured.

Eric RB and Gerard or Araujo at CB?

I dont rate Kounde highly but would rather a defence with him RB and Eric in middle than that.

He has been nowhere near likes of Eric or Cubarsi this season and worse than Balde also.

Not being as bad as Araujo is not some huge call.

Another game that he struggled 1v1 and too many mistakes on ball.

At times Yamal looked sick of some of the god awful passes he was receiving.

What would you like him to do? The only option is shifting Garcia to RB but Garcia has been excellent in the middle.

He is playing because he isn't absolutely terrible but he is still far below the level we want for our right back. We need a guy who can defend and attack and he isn't really doing either well.
