I was happy in summer when club decided to keep him. The second year (the one after the breakout season) is imo the most difficult one and he did well enough if you consider that it was a hard start for him as he both travelled to World Cup as well as Olympics.

Speaking of Olympics: I liked his performance there as he has shown that he can also perform outside his safety zone (Barça) and being a leader by performance which was also the time I started to believe that he can be more for Barça than just another talent from La Masia that gives the team some impact for 2 seasons and then leaves to a smaller La Liga club because he is not good enough.

He might not be a player who takes the game in his hands and has the tendency to disappear at times in some games, but he has grit and the mentality to keep going and fights his way through when things aren't going well for him. Much needed mentality and one if these players that can score anytime without having a great game overall.

We will see how he turns out and of course most wouldn't sell him now and I'm on this boat too. In the end you are always wiser. People would have gone crazy if club did sell Gavi for 70M when he was flying high. Now, most people will think differently.

Honestly I don't know why we would think differently. Gavi is struggling because of injuries, not because he is a bad player. He's a world class talent

Even if he fails in his career it doesn't mean we should have sold him. Selling young players with his dedication and talent would be a terrible example for everyone in the club

Same for Fermin. Unless he himself asks to leave, which could be a possibility, keep him at all costs. People speak of mentality and grit and yes but not like he's just that. He has now became a player with tremendous skill on the ball

He reminds me of Kenan Yildiz sometimes, although Kenan is better at dribbling I think Fermin has better passing. But on ability level they are really close. Both with killer instinct for goal. Then you look at the hype both receive, and Kenan is valued at some absurd prices while clubs offer cheap money for Fermin. Not a dig at Yildiz at all, he is an outstanding footballer, but it's just that Fermin is pretty underrated in my opinion

If Fermin can learn to pause a bit more then game needs it he will be a very complete player.

Can still be quite frustrating trying to play at 100mph when team needs something different at times.

Like Raph isnt really a 'proper' LW Fermin isnt fully a AM either and both are closer to support strikers the way Barca play.

Has to go with Spain though for that same reason. Is different to anything they have.

Fermin should be valued at 80 million. The big problem is we would waste that money on some real duds or bring one over hyped, over priced player.

New contract till 2031. 50% increase they say. This means 6M gross. It will cost us 7M more till 2029 but it also means no big contract 2030 and 2031 and i think he would not sign a contract with 6M gross in 2 years. And he is also on low wages compared to his value

Good choice if the numbers are correct

Don't sell this mf. Sell Casado. Fermin is a joker, I like him a lot.
Dont think we'll get much for Casado. 20m or so. For that sum, I would rather keep him.

He is a valuable backup. He isn't as talented or as young as Bernal.
Barnal will require more playing time to develop. He will be/has to be loaned out.

Hence, Casado is a perfect 2nd-3rd backup option.

It depends if Bernal and/or Gavi prove they can actually play football until the end of the season. If they can then selling Casado makes sense but I wouldn't bet on it. His value is dropping fast though, I don't think Deco is capable of selling him for more than 20 mil now. Another bad season and we'll loan him while paying his salary.

I think 20 million is the max value he has now. I would sell him immediately for this amount because he is not needed. If someone or both are injured of pedri/frenkie in important games olmo or/and garcia will play the double pivot.
Olmo and garcia are miles ahead of casado.
Olmo showed this seaso that he is really versatile, he is very important for barca.
Problem is that garcia cannot play at CB when he plays at CDM.
Gavi is the joker, if he comes back in a few weeks and finds his form instantly, casado wouldnt even be a bench option.
So if you can sell casado because next year his value will fall to 5 million

We are covered good in the midfield, selling him would not be too bad. 20mil is decent price.

If we want to spend we will need to sell players. Biggest points if FFP is selling players like Fermin or Casado which are home grown players.
