16 - Fermín López

Selling Fermin for big money brings you back to 1:1.

So tell me a better first 11 player we can bring in for that 60m.

It's possible, but bear in mind that that move would make Olmo starting AMC. And he is as brittle as a 100 year old in a cemetery.
I don’t want to sell Fermin, but they said last summer that if he wants to leave, he can. But his price is not below 100m. I am sure there will be many clubs offering big money in the summer but we should not sell

I'd take it if we strategized correctly. But I would prefer to sell Olmo even if he is a better suited player injury free.

But a top centreback like Schotterback in return I could go with.

This is where the disillusion with losing Dro comes btw. Door was right there for when Fermin or Olmo want to move and be a starter.

Ah yes, the same old story on this forum - "tell me a better player".

Like other clubs weren't able to buy similar level or better player for 60M. Since scouting at this club is non-existent, it's a closed subject anyway.

Sell Fermin???

Sales people invading barcaforum

You dont sell your best assets.

Sell players like lewandowski, mats and araujo who are eating up more wages than their productivity on the pitch.

I also don’t want to sell fermin but a statement like yours shows stupidity, sorry about that. You can't get money for players like you said because they have no market. You can only sell players for big money if they have a market.

At least from my own observations, Dro wasn't good enough to replace anyone. Let's see if his development at PSG confirms that.

Regarding Fermin, he's a €70-100m player earning approximately €4m per year until summer 2029. If we don't want to sell him, we should extend his contract by the end of 2027 at the latest. He'll likely want a more appropriate salary sooner because he deserves it, and that's why he might want to leave. But with this low salary for at least another 1.5 years, he's very valuable to us, and even if we sell him and buy a player who is just as good or better (even if he's a defender), it will cost significantly more in wages per year.

So no i don’t want to sell him, i hope we give him a new contract in 1,5 years.

Edit:
Olmo, if he's inform, is a world-class player, but due to his age, he's not worth that much anymore; you won't get more than €40 million for him. Furthermore, he has a long and lucrative contract, so there's no incentive for him to leave his home club, making a sale of Olmo very unrealistic.

Btw. Already more goals + assists than last season and there's more than 4 months of football remaining.

And to think we almost sold him?

We don't need to extend Fermin for now, wait until the next winter and if he keeps the good form then offer him a better contract. No need to do it before that.
