Dowman is the first hyped English player to actually take notice of tbh. He’s not nearly as accomplished as the English hype train will have you believe based on their early giddiness but no question this kid is a cut above anything I’ve seen in England before

Looks like he came from La Masia, very much a fluid and natural attacking player who is already 1m80 at 15 so his frame could increase still to 1.85 or so. Looks like a great competitive engine as well. Will he be a winger or a midfielder? Will/can he combine well with Saka? Curious to see how Arteta may consider him already since, tbf he has yet to play in a senior match in the Premiership - a friendly, even against another Premier League club is where you experiment and Premier League technically doesn’t permit U16 players in a match day squad (He turns 16 in December)

But he looks ready to me which for us is par for the course but bizarre in England, he’s that good IMHO

Haven't seen a minute of him but is he better than palmer then potentially? Palmer is in my opinion the most talented English player of the current crop.

Very early to draw any definitely conclusions. He's a child. But he looks promising on that video.

Yeah they do that all the time. Many of the players start from wider and all advance to the middle or the 6 yard box as the corner comes in.

Though I am just looking at the photo and never watched the match, so don't know if they tweaked it this time.

On that note, why do teams like outswinging corners?

I know they sometimes look sexier with the ball coming back out and someone crashing a header in; inswinging can be more scrappy. But inswinging corners (and often crosses in general) are more of a threat with traveling in the direction of the goal and rigth on top of the defenders and keeper. I believe Soccernomics gave the data (though this was years ago) that a much higher proprotion of goals resulted from inswinging than outswinging.

Arsenal have it right. They always use Saka and Rice (or whoever else is available) on their inswinging side.
