I'm always impressed by how Lamine transformed into such a high volume dribbler. He was very good dribbler from beginning (2023/24 season and Euro 2024 showed it) but since last season he completely transformed.

That has to be since 2016/17 because Messi used to put in obscene numbers between 2006 and 2015 dribbling-wise

Sofascored only collects data since 2015/16. I guess Messi in 2010 and 2011 would have more.

Even Messi on those dribbling runs combined a quick one two with a teammate very often. Yamal doesn't have that and I think Flick partialy at fault for it. He prefers spamming crosses and long shots. It's also true the team mates aren't on the level techically.

Pedri is the only one who is at Yamal's level technically (Yamal himself said so) but even Pedri lacks some aggression to combine a quick one two attack. Maybe if he plays in a more attacking position, it will improve.
