I would normally say Villa has great chances for the title because 3 points behind in January is not a joke

But honestly they do have a lot of luck. Chelsea should have scored at least 3 before 60 min here. Then Villa scored and they completely fell off

But just go on. I would definitely be glad to see them win, much more than Arsenal or City.

If Chelsea had Harry Kane (or any elite level striker) they would have won that game after 30 minutes. They genuinely played outstanding in the first half but as always were wasteful and only had 1 goal to show for it. I know he's still building his fitness and wasn't at or close to his best today but Chelsea fell apart once they took Palmer off. It gives the opposition such a boost. They've also spunked so much money on players that they either didn't need or just aren't at the level required. (Delap, Gittens, Garnacho etc)

Truth
After matchday 18 last season, the top 4 did not ultimately change by end of season but for one club - all fared poorer over the last 20 matches, gaining less pts than first 18…except for City, who climbed from 7th to 3rd

  1. Liverpool - 43 pts (84)
  2. Arsenal - 36 pts (74)
  3. Chelsea - 35 pts (69)
  4. Nottingham Forest - 34 pts (64)

  5. City - 28 pts (71 pts)
It’s tighter this season but most dropped more pts 2nd half of season rather than gaining on opponents
