They'll never bench him, the club will look for someone to complement him, not replace him. He's the Catalan golden boy, you can't bench him. Our best hope is that he improves.

In an ideal world he would be our 3rd CB, playing less intense games and gathering experience and maybe in a few years he would be ready to become a starter.

Say what you want about DLF but don't think anyone will be surprised when he is not starting for Spain when all players are fit. He's a bit like Balde in terms of level/competition, there are simply better Spanish players.

Spain depth at CB is not as good as at LB. Cubarsi ain't worse than Le Normand and Vivian who are both error machines.

Is Hujsen even better at defending? Madrid doesn't play risky tactics, even less so Spain, at least not intentionally like Barca. Think they both would be fine for Spain depending on form.

He’s been poor defensively for Real so far.
But better for setpieces I imagine and is faster.

Hujsen has bigger potential than Cubarsi due to height, but even as Cubarsi's biggest doubter here, I've to say Hujsen is even worse defender.

Even Real Madrid fans are turning on him atm.

But huge part of NT football is experience and familiarity with the coach system, and DLF is within his rights to start the likes of Laporte atm. Heck, even Eric might be better to start than either.

First of all, he's 18 years old. Still in his teenager years. There is no teenager in the world, who can perform constantly on a high level like an adult professional athlete. It's completely normal to have a low phase, especially in his age.
In addition, he basically plays every third day without a pause thanks to the lack of alternatives. He's much overplayed, not only physically, but mentally too, playing without a break.

I have no doubt, that he'll have a worldclass career at barca, because he has the potential and abilities, despite current poor performances for said reasons.

Kinda crazy with Eric's case, the last time he was called up for Spain was in 2022, I believe.

During that time, there were a lot of questions on why he was being called up then because he wasn't playing consistently and was struggling, but Lucho fucking loved him, though.

Now that he's looking like a complete stud, he's not been called up even though he's easily 3x the player he was back then now. Well I guess it's good for us as it allows him to rest and not get injured.

Cubarsi should be the third CB with two starters ahead of him.

He might be a full-time starter in 2-3 years, but right now he's not good enough for it.

I feel like we ended up digging a hole with Cubarsi, that hes been a starter for ages now that we are committed to keeping it that way.

Guys like Martin even if hes performing better than Cubarsi is will always be expendable of the two.

Feels like the LCB part of the CB spots in the main priority to reinforce instead of the RCB spot.

Buy a proper cb and bench or loan this guy.

Imagine if the club had done that when Puyol made a fool out of himself agains Liverpool back in 2001, Emile Heskey ate him for breakfast that day. We would have lost the best defender this club has ever seen before he even got a chance to prove it.

Cubarsi has every posibility to become a world class defender in the future, but he is still only just 19 years old. Let us give him some time to develop.

Puyol is not better than Pique or Koeman as a pure CB.

Overall, with leadership qualities included, he might be in the mix.
