Koundes two major issues are -

1. Slow footed for 1v1 vs pacey/dribbling wingers. Either gets skinned when too close or leaves too much room and ball in.

2. He doesnt have the slightest clue what to do with ball before gets it while deep. He tries to control it then decide and loses split seconds. That bit in second half where Yamal passed to him in tight area his brain froze tried some flick or whtever the fuck he was trying and was robbed easily.

When he has time on ball he can at times make a great pass but under pressure he freezes too often, doesnt have picture of game and decides what to do after receives it.

Balde is a bit the same. Doesnt really know what next move is but can get away with it as can dribble out at times once taken it in.

Garcia has his faults but he is by far the full back at Barca who undrstands where game is at tactically and what passes are on before receives it.. and has far better technique to make it happen.

Another issue is the spine of this team has finished it's cycle. Kounde, Araujo, Lewa, Ferran and maybe even Raphinha need to be sold but only at the right price.
With a such a stupid management who wants to keep Lewanflopski till next summer allowing him to end his contract OR, even worse - extending it for another year - you are hoping tooooo much. This guy should be pushed out in January and get some money on him plus relieving his HUGE salary for half of season on….BUT, I would be surprised if this will happen as NO other top team in the world has a poorer management than Barca. Hilarious!

Alan Shearer tore into Barcelona’s defence. He said:

“They keep doing it over and over again. Chelsea deserved to win; they executed it perfectly. It’s as if four little idiots stand there and ask you: ‘How would you like to do it, guys?’

“Sometimes it’s hard to believe. I have no words for how easy it was for Chelsea and how crazy Barça play at times. I’ve seen many offside traps in my life, but this one is truly crazy.”

Alan said it perfectly, poor Hansi need to work with 4 idiots. No coach itw could rescue these guys.
Biggest idiot is Hansi himself. First when you dare to play such an idiotic risky high line you need Players that are capable of it. Which Barca havent. Secondly you need a pairing which plays constantly together which learn to execute the idiotic high line perfectly in synchronisation. Flick always mixes the pairings. Every match he fields another two central defenders. Brainless stuff, brainless coach. Amateurish stubborn behaviour, nothing else

Thanks to Flick and Lewandowski this club is still at the top despite its financial problems.
Otherwise, it would have submerged into AC Milan, Juventus and Manchester United mediocrity - inevitable consequence of years of prolonged star footballers contracts and high maintenance and overall wear and tear on sport ambitions and motivation.

Thanks to Laporta and Yamal barca is back making headline news again

Anyone else feel this new sense of pointlessness watching us lately? Like, even if we play well and score goals, it feels empty to me. The same feeling as in chess when you're bored of the game and start throwing your pieces against their king. They might blunder or slip up but it's not really a serious game.

There have been worse barca sides and "objectively" more boring barca sides but I don't think I've ever felt the same sense of pointlessness as with this one.

How true is this?

I don't think Flick would demand signings knowing full well nobody is gonna buy him anything

Although that would be completely reasonable. People speak of PSG last season but they actually went to the market and signed some top players in areas they needed improvement

If the board is not capable of signing anyone in the window, well too bad. Until you can, maybe don't expect world domination and treble every year

How can you see this face :flick2: during a game and feel no emotions? Disrespectful post 👎

Repeated that defensive mistakes are also down to lack of pressing from attack and midfield, and he is right.

Don't want to her how they do well in trainings, just bench anyone unwilling to give his all during actual matches.
