Messi has no business coming out against anyone. He was paid like we were some sheik sponsored oil team until he couldn't be anymore, so he signed for one instead.

There's no controversy, none. We couldn't afford him anymore. The board wasn't perfect and made mistakes, like signing Torres and Olmo for good money, but other than that... not much to blame them for.

I don't blame him for it anymore btw. Once you get trated with caviar and Champagne it's tough to go back to fish and chips and tap beer. So to speak.

Messi can say whatever he likes either way.

Quite clearly his issue is more abouthis name was used and lied to more than not being able to re sign.

This idea Laporta chose Barca over Messi is more lies anyway.

Laporta wanted to sign CVC deal and tried to behind back of board and socios not knowing the full extent of how bad it was.

Perez is the one who stopped it happening when intervened and let board know what Laporta was up to.

That whole story about sums up Laporta. For good and bad.

Lol, in politics you nearly always have to lie and sugar coat things. It's how it is. 90% of the people couldn't take the harsh truth anyway. Too damn frail. The club issues during that time were mainly caused by balooning wages to our legends. Everybody knows it but most are too romantic and grateful about what these players achieved at the club to point fingers at them. They caused most of the financial disaster, and that dumb fuck Bartomeu bended over to them like the spineless rat he was.

And for what. League titles? We have 2 in the last 3 on low cost mode barely able to register players. Could have maybe been worth it if we won 3 CLs in a row like Madrid during those years, but we were a joke in Europe almost every season.

That has no relevance as to what happened or why Messi would be pissed off.

What 'harsh truth'?

Messi was on too much but every single owner in footbsll history takes Messi on that contract in peak years ahead of paying 150m for four years of mid 30s Lewa for example.

Laporta included who argued for that Messi contract.

They can get Batman, Elvis Presley, Tupac Shakur, Lily Phillips and Optimus Prime to get behind a new candidate and he still wouldn't have a chance against Don Laporta.

You guys seriously underestimate how wildly popular Laporta is in Catalunya. Most people on the ground realise what a great job he is doing.

They are wise enough to know how deep the shit Barca would have been in if anyone else would have taken over. They also know the comical history of past presidents going back as far as Gaspart and beyond.

Just like his football teams, when The Teflon Don competes, he wins. :boss:

You must have air instead brain in your head. Catalans are so in love they don't even go on stadium. Espanyol almost has more local fans.

And with these new prices there will be only tourists and Elena Fort's local brigade of women and transexuals on the stands.

Font is a clown and first of all way too negative to run Barca. It would get depressing very quickly. This club is one chaos and turmoil, we can't have Debbie downer running it. It would add even more chaos and turmoil.

Yes lots of air. Luckily it doesn't get gusty enough not to know why fans weren't going to the Montjuic or that 6m out of the 8m local people of Catalunya support Barcelona, which would make it pretty difficult for Espanyol to almost have more fans.

Let's see who wins the election.
