This is an amazing generation of players. Amazing. Just because Brazil have had monster squads in the past doesn't mean this generation wasn't talented. You calling them "idiots who can't kick a ball" is embarrassing for you. All these players have won stuff at the highest level and many of them were the best in the world in their positions.

These are mostly players who did well on club level but contributed nothing to their national team, with a few exceptions.. And those exceptions are players Neymar could work with

And why do you people keep comparing it to Argentina team lol? That team had nothing to do with winning the WC but Messi gave his absolute best. And he's greatest ever footballer. Neymar can't do that on himself, but neither can any of the other legends who won for Brazil playing in superteams

The point I'm making here is you can put any of Pele, R9, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Romario alone with 2014,2018,2022 squads and Brazil still won't win the WC. While if you put Neymar in 2002 squad he probably won't hold them back. So argument that he won nothing for Brazil and that's why they should not respect him is ridiculously stupid, he was all alone

Pele can definitely win the WC with this team.

This is completely hypothetical because of different eras but Pele was the GOAT. Neymar is nowhere near Pele lmao.

Pele and Maradona were the greatest players of that century. The disrespect to put Pele in the same bracket as R9 and Dinho!

Which World Cup did you watch? The entire team was excellent. So was Scaloni. It was far from a carry job. Even the biggest Messi fans would say so.

You're creating a fugazi narrative of Messi winning the World Cup on his own.

I'm not sure if Brazil 2018 and 2022 were inferior to Brazil of the past much. Remember Brazil were both top favourite in 2018 and 2022 but 2018 Neymar was outclassed by Hazard and 2022 he tried to be Crynaldo last penalty hero.

If you look back to the past, Brazil of Romario, Bebeto, Dunga, Cafu then later Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho... were all not viewed as legendary team before World Cup. In 1994 they won thanks to Romario - Bebeto duo and solid defensive style, which was criticized a lot. I don't see

If you actually watched the games, you'll know that Hazard was the real best player of the 2018 WC not Modric.

Messi was definitely the best player of the Argentina squad, but the contribution from the likes of Dibu, Romero, Enzo, RDP, MacA, Alvarez and etc. + Scaloni's adaptability and tactics are incredibly important for the WC success.

Brazil definitely needs to increase their quality in midfield and dominate the play. Biggest reason why they can't get past the QF except for 2014.

Argentina don't win the WC without Messi but it wasn't anything close to a carry job.

The closest thing to a WC carry job is 1986 (even though there were other good players too).

Another big factor is luck in these tournaments.

Brazil would easily get to the 2022 SF but they bottled it. In 2018, Hazard clearly outplayed Neymar.

You keep completely missing the point. Don't know if it's on purpose or you just don't reas my posts well

1) Never said Neymar, R9 or Dinho are anywhere close to Pele. In Pele thread you can see I have huge respect for him and despise the undermining of his achievements just because of era he played in. Don't know where you got that from. Just said none of them would win the WC with those teams. There is a chance Messi would, because he is a class apart from all those players

2) The entire team was excellent in fighting for Messi and running their asses off for him. Would they be able to do something on their own if Messi was say injured for some game? Most likely no. They can play without Messi now because they have evolved as NT, but back in world cup Messi was still the mastermind. Messi didn't win it by himself, but you remove Messi and no chance Argentina wins the WC, I think that's fairly obvious

No he can't

Neymar scored the winner in 2022 and his teammates absolutely failed him by not being able to endure for next few mins. Argentines would die but not let some Bruno fucking Petkovic shit on Messi's career. You can put Pele, the literal football deity, in the middle of that team and they won't have sense of having to give their absolute maximum for the nation and for their national legend

In 2014 Neymar was injured in QF and carried them to that place. Nothing he could do to prevent disaster in semis. You can maybe, just maybe only blame him for 2018. For not producing some unreal stuff out of nowhere against Belgium and bailing his team out. Would Pele do that? I'm doubtful, but maybe he would. Even then, Brazil would hardly have a chance against that France team. They had more hunger, more fighting and frankly more talent as well
