Don't like him at all. Doesn't press and can't play against parked bus. As a substitute he is OK but not good enough for a starting role. Now we know why Deco wanted Diaz in the first place.

He does the basics mostly alright, generates a few good chances and largely takes good shots. His link up and reading of his team mates is where he can still improve. A lot of 1-2 attempts that didn't quite pan out. Balls to Balde too wayward. This is where Flick needs to spin his magic. If he clicks with Yamal, Balde, Fermin or Ferran even a little more consistently his impact will be a lot higher.

Most importantly doesnt make those half-space runs that are typical of great barca attacking players.. u cannot be a barca forward and ask for the ball at ur feet all the time doesnt make sense.. ronaldinho had prime eto'o, Larson, messi , giuly.. messi had etoo, villa, neymar, Suarez, Pedro.. while yamal has ONE = raphinha.. u can see it in the field.. yamal running diagonally with the ball always looking at pass channels but sees none when Raphinha doesnt play.. in recent games (today, classico) we controlled the midfield wel to very very well.. but at the final third we looked futile , uninspired , and without ideas.. til this is fixed one way or other its gonna be Yamal and inchallah like we saw today.

he looks uninterested to press really.. goes just to casually block spaces (common with wingers but not in flick system). same with yamal. it's like we have messi and suarez in their late 30ies without even 30% of the quality ro compensate.
and this is a player in his prime and a teenager.
