For his system to work you need the pressing to be great and cohesive.

You also need athletic defenders and midfielders that aren't mentally retarded.
Our defenders are slow and lack brain cells. Kounde and Araujo are not technically slow, but the former turns around like a ship and Araujo is just dumb.

You have to adjust.

But even a dumb person can see this ain't working so why force it? Is there something to prove? We all know Araujo is dumb and that Inigo was better. Furthermore, we are also aware that we lack Raphinha and that 90% of our players are out of shape so why the hell is he trying to play in the same fucking way every single game?

While Araujo - Eric is clearly pretty shit CB pairing this goes beyond that

His job is not in question. It will be after this season. We will see what we win and if our game has improved.

Learned nothing from conceding 7 against Inter. It's sickening, I had high hopes he could make small adjustments but nah. Zero flexibility, there's no place for stubbornness if you want to win.

Called it from the very first game of the season. This defence is absolute dogshit and this club desperately needs a CB, RB and LB.

Comfortably the worst defence in any top club in Europe bar none. 2x worse than the next closest one.

Flick will probably end up leaving but the fact that the management left him out to fail like this is pathetic. Flick's football isn't going to work with these dogshit defenders. It was already our downfall and by far our weakest line last year and was only weakened in the summer.

Bar the 2 Garcia's, I would sell the entire backline and it's backups. Unrealistic though so Flick needs to make changes to the system or we are shipping 7+ vs an inform and fit Bayern/PSG

it looks to me the players are also frustrated with the way he wanst to play. running them to the ground pressing, only to get smacked (as expexted) by a good one touch diaginal pass or a second run after the tra... same story like last season only gotten worse. this pass is inevitable and non definablele except if you press with 11 players at full speed all game.

I don't know. This looks like more than a bad slump like last season. I hoped that somehow he will involve the club's philosophy more into his tactics, but some managers don't really improve or tweak their tactics.

It is hard for me to understand how did we get so crap at controlling the game and keeping the ball. A bit vs Newcastle this season vs any serious opposition, and apart from those 25-30 mins we only have the ball when the opponent gives it away to exploit our backline.

Another problem is that Rashford can't press even if his life depended on it and Fermin as good as he is attacking wise he also lacks pressing in his game. Furthermore, Garcia is injured, Lewa is one year older and was injured, Olmo is horrible, Raphinha is injured, Inigo is in Arabia and Kounde is unbelievably bad.

With all that in mind playing in the same way we played last season is just unbelievably dumb.

My conclusion after one and a quarter seasons here is unfortunately the worst one for us - which is that he doesn't actually know how to play any other way. He never showed anything but this exact same approach in Bayern as well as in the German NT.

And then if you don't actually know how to do anything else - you just go deeper and deeper into the one thing you do know (and worked before) and stubbornly try to make it work.

There is not much he can work with. Too many injuries and no real reinforcements in any position except GK. I feel sad for him, but this club is addicted to stupidity.

I predict he will start playing regular defense/no offside trap soon but I fear that he's playing this way because regular 4-3-3 might be even worse.
