This season he has been from meh to abysmall.
Not only in defending, but in his supposed strength: passing.

He needs to sit on the bench for a while to clear his head

He had a good run with inigo. Now our defence keeps getting rotated a lot more. He was never the fastest. I feel defenders work best in pairs if not entire lines. Right now we mix and match and sort of can get away for smaller teams. For the top teams we need everyone to be completely in sync. Too early in the season to write him off.

I won't write him off, he's 18 ffs but he's been poor for a while and it's going under the radar. Slow and looks soft, he can pass a ball though.

This has been one of our issues. Because of our financial issues we've thrown these youngsters into the mix too early.
Cubarsi does look soft and slow. That's a recipe for disaster in today's game. Alot of these you gsters would have been broken in slowly before,but due to our financial situation we've had to fast track them.
He should definitely be benched.

I've been saying since last season that my worry is he won't improve defensively because flick isn't the type of manager to help defenders improve, he'll just master the offside trap and that's it.

Its looking like that's infact the case.
