I thought it was weird most clubs looking for a new coach didn’t mention his name.
What would earn him that? Flukey LL with unimpressive football that relied on luck and clutch GKeeping. Or the camel cup? He just hasn't done that great to be desirable to top clubs. He's also way too emotional. Makes him embarrass the club tbh. Weird, given that he was calm and collected on the pitch as captain should. Only nagged in interviews, which he turned on next level as coach. Should get some mental advice to be ready in this high stress job.

No, not topclubs.

But Benfica or Leverkusen and the likes that were looking for new coaches.

Think they're still above his wage grade. Needs to start at lower tier club in less pressuring environment like BL or Erdevise(spelling?)

The type of team he wants to go to simply won't bet on him at this point, I can only really see United hiring him if things go wrong with Amorim still, and that is very possible, I believe Amorim will be sacked by the end of this season.

Aye he could be. I wouldn't rule United having a good season out, but the jury is very much out right now.

That would open the door for someone like Xavi. I hope he doesn't go there though as he's my favourite midfielder ever and United my most hated team.

United has not improved at all, I don't see them making the top6 and certainly not the top4, their level right now is around 8th place.

There is a lot of talk about how they played well yesterday but fundamentally things were not very different. It seemed more like Arsenal being very poor rather than United playing a great game, and they still lost. I was impressed with Cunha but the team has the same issues, not much identity and the players don't understand each other on the field.

Totally agree with you and said as much in the EPL thread, was simply trying to be diplomatic.

I too am surprised (well not really given the fact United are media darlings) by claims they dominated Arsenal. It was a poor game littered with mistakes and bad decisions, and after Arsenal took the lead they happily ceded possession to United.

He may have a little success at Utd but ultimately it would end up being a train wreck.
Utd is toxic af. There's clearly an issue with the club's culture. Aren't they in 14th place or something?

I agree. He would give them a boost but after a while it would become ugly.

Which historic team and with a great budget would sign Xavi as coach though? None
Also, little expectations to win a title after recent years of shitshows. He can go in without huge pressure on his back.

It's a golden opportunity for him.

He needs to get back in the game if he wants to do something with his career. Would prefer some La Liga team instead of United though, don't believe he'll end up there.

Maybe he just doesn't care about managing a club that much? First the Qatar lost years and now more than a season without coaching too.
