Ronaldo has never had Maradona Messi Pele peak level. And?

Doesnt mean I cant rate him as 4th best and the best European ever by far.

I know some people will disagree so I am taking the high road.

Edit : I know about the cinema comment.

Everyone knows how much I like the guy.
My point is that if he hasn't got their all-round game, he cannot be rated on their level. It's pretty self-explanatory.

I believe he gets a great boost in all-time rankings due to his fame off the pitch, his obsessive fanboys, and a media manufactured rivalry with Messi that was created to make money by comparing them through stats, while ignoring the elephant in the room - Messi is infinitely more talented and infinitely better in general play, the qualitative aspects.

I believe without his favourable comparisons to Messi, and his fame off the pitch, he'd be rated most realistically i.e. below the likes of Cruyff, Di Stefano and Beckenbauer. all of who don't have massive fame off the pitch in this era or an artificial rivalry with the best player ever to make them look better.

But this is the wrong thread for it so will stop.

Ronaldo clearly hasn't got the all-round game of Maradona and Pele. That is undeniable. R9 is more disputable, but I'd still say R9 had a better all-round game.

Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't help himself with his obsession over goals and his belief that biggest goalscorer equals best footballer. He just encourages people that believe he is a stat padder with his attitude. Also his goal hanging for the last 11-13 years. Even a guy who works at the cinema flat out came out and said (without any prompting) that Ronaldo is a top player but very boring to watch. I didn't even mention Ronaldo, he did.

I’ve always said Ronaldo’s biggest downfall is his goals. Why? Because becoming the all-time top scorer made people forget everything else he does. His scoring is so dominant it screens everything else. “He can only score.” Yet he won the Ballon d’Or in 2008 as a right midfielder and has the most assists in Champions League history :ROFLMAO:

Then the cinema worker said watching him is boring. Obviously, he’s speaking for all the fans there. Tbh, I’m not surprised he doesn’t like CR7. If he had even 10% of Cristiano’s discipline he wouldn’t be a random cinema worker but the owner of that place!

You have played much more than me.

You seem to know true football things like how the game is played etc and I am a God in football trivia(which is mostly useless info tbf) but still extremely knowledgeable.

I am an internet/wiki guy. No shame in saying it.
I am not claiming to be an oracle. Just saying you get more of a feel for the game when you play thousands of times over the decades. I play with and against good players but it's not an especially high level. But it does not need to be - no matter what level you play at, you begin to understand the importance of teamwork, dribbling, passing, combinations etc.

I played with a guy who thought he was a superstar, but really he never came back into his own half and just stayed up front and expected us to feed him. We did all the hard work and good play, he just finished chances (at an ok rate as he missed a lot too). He clearly didn't have our ability at all, but he thought he was the best player in the team because he scored plenty of goals.

That was years ago. His playmaking even then was 6/10 at best relative to the GOATs.

And tbh that is a disgraceful comment - the guy is actually management, but you need to get a grip thinking celebrities are better because they make more money. Ronaldo has a talent for football, but that cinema worker you are disparaging seems a much better person than him, and way more intelligent.

Ronaldo would be a complete failure if not for the lottery of being bestowed football talent, so wind your neck in like he's something special because he's good at kicking a ball around a park (which ultimately means nothing in life, and is only seen as important because we, the fans, deem it so).

Without fans like you, me and that 'random cinema worker', Ronaldo would be nobody as there would be zero demand for his ability. Remember that.

It's basic knowledge.

It's not profound or special to know that a player can be better than another player despite scoring fewer goals.

An alien coming from Mars could tell you that in 10 minutes. But so many football fans seem to lack this very basic, easy to grasp concept.

tbf, i admit my comment wasnt ok but you cant judge CR7's character if you dont know him personally, the coaches and players who know him always speak positive from him and he donated more money than 99% of the football players outside

he could have easily become a model if not a football player, also he is a fantastic tennis player and we would compare him with Federer and Nadal if he would have chose tennis....

I am willing to come out that you know more about real stuff.

Josef Bican has 700 goals in 450 games and 90% dont know him.

Frane Matosic has 729 goals in 739 for my team (Hajduk Split),is he a goat candidate? Has anyone here heard of him?

Lewandowski has 3 digits in the BIGGEST comp. More than Raul for example.

Ronaldo said once: 'Football without fans is nothing'
It was years ago. And was 6/10 at best anyway and nothing amazing relative to GOAT level playmakers. I watched his entire career so I know.

Told you before - celebrities donate for tax evasion reasons and for PR. I wish you would stop bringing that up. Ronaldo is especially a candidate for doing this as he's obsessed with his image.

Lol I know you rate his looks, but without the fame he has from football, no, he could never ever be a model. Male models are much better looking than him generally, plus he wouldn't have had the money to fix his teeth and face a bit. But you rate his looks and I do not so we can disagree. The comment he would have been on Federer or Nadal's level as a tennis player is clear trolling.

Yes, he said that, so maybe he agrees with me that you shouldn't put down guys who work normal jobs. Without guys like that Ronaldo would have nothing. We the fans paid for his life.
