Yeah, well match up counts. Getafe would bother the City that won those 4 PL titles in a row and gave them a harder match than most EPL sides did away.

Cant see that.

City would spam crosses to Haaland and he would be worst nightmare for them trying to defend deep.

At least the to City side would.

Teams like Spurs are getting more joy against City by being brave and defending high and 1v1 if anything.

Teams have stopped trying to defend off ball and deeper as much and City look at a bit of loss trying to come up with new way of playing.

Really, he's average in the air.

But yeah, usually EPL sides play more offensive because they are more quality teams. It is just that often big teams would prefer this type of game where both teams try to play than closed out affairs where you have to break apart low blocks all night.

Would say probably Moyes and Nuno before he left were two of the more defensive coaches... at least being solid at back as being key to how they want to play.

After that the promoted teams will have to play like that at times more often than the others most likely.

It is hard for teams to play that way as a first choice in EPL due to players teams have.

Anyways, for me Newcastle away is a big test for the current abilities of this Barca side. Newcastle is a pretty typical strong EPL side that very much embraces the league's spirit and approach. Even more than Arsenal, Tottenham, or current City.

Yeah should be a cracker and tell us a lot about where Barca are.

The tactics will be full on in the face and crowd will be at bedlam.

Have a feeling Flick likes the match-up. More in tune to his Bundesliga days.

Unless somehow Newcastle overthinks it and defends deeper. Saw this odd respect EPL sides show for Barca and Madrid before.

Then it will be like playing AM. Not so fun.

The EPL teams play X way so they would be better at counterinb la Liga teams, runs both ways.

Madrid, Atleti and Barca would destroy EPL teams if they played the typical EPL "style" against them.
