Yep ACL is a 12-18 month recovery time after returning to play, you can almost certain write off the first season back and maybe get going 2-3 months in your 2nd season.

But its worrying that this is the 2nd Barca player to have this issue and then needing to go back to do surgery again, they should have been looking at this in the summer and do what needs to be done then.

Someone needs to look into it.

Did rodri also have to go back for a 2nd surgery 8 can't recall.

It doesnt take two years then start from there.

How can you say he wasn't relied on, when he played 1700 minutes and played 42 games for us last season? Fucking Gerard Martin, the only LB backup, played 1800 minutes.

We would have been doing the same mistake if we sold Casado and kept Bernal as the main backup for FDJ, like you said. Would have fucked two players (god forbid) future. Just like Ansu's. Nah, I would rather play Masia kids, lose matches, than give more than 1000' for players coming out of ACL.

Players come back around a year after ACL..some slightly sooner some slightly later.

Gavi was not being relied upon last season he was a back up.

I am not asking to give him more recovery time. It's done already. My contention is that people were willing to sell Casado because we have Bernal coming back from ACL. Hence, Bernal wouldn't have gotten the time to recover.

It is less than 20 full games across 8 months and for first month barely played 10 minutes in any game came on in.

Yes I am claiming 1700 minutes is too much, but we didn't have a Pedri backup last season, so it is what it is.

Learning as in, "Not listening to you and folks like you". Selling Casado cuz Bernal's 12-month is over, and he is back from Injury.

Barca waited 11 months to play Gavi and in that month he played barely 10 minutes a game.

Rodri was back less than 8 months after his ACL by comparison.

20 full games across a season when back from ACL is not too much and most top players will have played more than that in a shorter time.

Casado should have been sold...and the argument was to improve other areas.

1700 minutes across 4 competitions is standard for a squad player, we play like 70 games a season, come on.

Think it is normal for some sort of secundary injury to appear around the operated joint soon after ACL reconstruction. Read something about it a while ago.
