Nah... you are not a top club when even a bit of success triggers your "sell while it's hot" instinct. Their own players treat them as a stepping stone to other clubs.

It's a shame because many clubs in Bundesliga could be big, if only they had ambition. But what's the point, stadiums are full anyway, football is consumed, might as well make a buck since fans enjoy the game so much that any competitive drive to win has been replaced with the satisfaction of simply playing and being part of it.

This is so strange. Biggest economy in Europe producing only one top 10 European club. Especially puzzling about Dortmund. They even have a bigger stadium than Bayern, and constantly among the highest attendences in Europe. How can they tolerate no championship in 12 years?

Germany is perfectly sat up to be the # 1 or 2 league in the world, from an organizational prospective

Great stadiums
Fans that love the game and always come out, so the product looks good on TV

Organized league
Attacking football

But every club in the country sees bayern as representing the entire nation it seems, so they call just capitulate to them constantly.

That's what I mean - they were big clubs and are now feeders for Bayern. Bayern always ruled that league but nowhere near as pronounced as now.

As you say, it isn't even like it's a smaller league ruined post Bosman. It's a big country with the largest economy in Europe. They can support more than one elite team.

It's not been an easy start for Jobe Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund. The Real Madrid player's brother, who left the Premier League this summer to embark on a new adventure in the Bundesliga, was substituted at halftime this weekend following his team's 3-3 draw with St. Pauli.

Niko Kovac didn't shy away from the English player and left him in the locker room for the second half. According to Sky Sports Germany, this didn't go down well with the Bellinghams' closest circle, specifically with their father, Mark, and mother, Denise, who, according to the outlet, even went down to the locker room.

Sky reports that after the final whistle, Mark Bellingham could be seen near the players' area having a heated argument with Sebastian Kehl, the German club's sporting director and a major supporter of Jobe's arrival at the club a few months ago. A "visit" that, according to reports in Germany, was not well received at the Dortmund club.

Sebastian Kehl himself was blunt hours after the incident, without naming anyone: "We are all disappointed with yesterday's outcome. However, the active area is and will remain reserved for players, coaches, and management, not families and advisors. That will not happen again. We have clearly informed everyone involved."

Newcastle buys Woltemade from Stuttgart for 85m + 5. What the fuck? Came out of nowhere, after Bayern were after him the whole summer. First of all, the price is completely ridiculous for a player, who had 3 good months in the Bundesliga. Money is really worthless by now for English clubs. Second, Bayern loses another German transfer target after Wirtz. Honeß will fume.

Many German fans laughed about Stuttgart being so dumb to refuse Bayern's 60m offer and said Woltemade's worth will decline this season again and here we are

More money than sense in football. Particularly that league.

I checked his stats and they aren’t bad. 28 games, 12 goals. Of course, this doesn’t mean that he will replicate it in the EPL, but if he does, he’d at least soften the blow for Newcastle.

As a reference, Isak scored 23 times in 34 games.

The lad seems to have come out of nowhere. Will probably be a decent player but 90m is madness.
