He's really good but a potential flop too, it's hard to explain but just think it could be a case where a player doesn't sustain or improve his level, but regresses.

I'm a big fan but he is still a risk, especially at the prices touted. Those are best striker in the world fees.

Newcastle statement: https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/alexander-isak-statement-190825
We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening.
We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.
We want to keep our best players, but we also understand players have their own wishes and we listen to their views. As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired.
We do not foresee those conditions being met.
This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates.

Pretty harmless and conciliatory statement from Newcastle considering Isak simply went on a strike, because he doesn't give a shit about contracts he signed himself. This will only get worse if clubs don't start punishing these players, even if it hurts yourself.

Barca is at fault too here, that this kind of behaviour becomes popular, when they took Dembele who had even a worse exit at Dortmund. The result was, he left us also in a shitty way later. We can't say we didn't see it coming, same will be with Isak's new club.

Someone who knows his situation better can correct me if I'm wrong but I think when he talks about broken promises he meant they promised him a new contract during last season but because of some changes in their sporting department those talks never progressed. Don't know if true but I've read somewhere that Eddie Howe's brother was the one negotiating a new contract with Isak's agent at some time. So that was the main reason he wanted to leave but ofc when Liverpool presented him their new project he became even more determined to leave.

He will ve cheaper next year, and Newcastle will sell him to us for much less because of contract.

Also, he would choose Liverpool before Barcelona? No one sane.

Always two sides of a coin, not like clubs give a fuck about a player and his contract if he isn't "needed" anymore. Also, I'd trust Isaak on this one - he most probably was naive enough to accept something verbal and now Newcastle walks it back - Dembele and Isaak are not the same, Isaak has always been known to most people as an honorable and nice dude...
