How is it we frequently tend to look worse when our opponents go down due to red cards?

Barca are the only club that seems to happily lower intensity and play the game at 50% when opponents get players sent off.

Glad Flick is calling this shit out. Ridiculous habits that need to be weeded out of this clubs culture.

Exactly. Games that turn out like these are perfect for getting our top scorers going. Mbappe, prime Penaldo etc. would be bagging 3-4 goals against 9 players without a doubt. No hesitation, no softness, no mercy. Instead Yamal was just jogging around looking like he couldn’t wait for the match to end. Needs to step it up a notch if he wants to be an all time great.

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
This league has more of the dark arts than pretty much EPL, Buli, Ligue 1 and Serie A combined. When you add that to the fact the fans turn the stadium into a massive bitchy whinefest when they are losing, the product they are serving up is downright horrific to watch.

Click on any random La Liga game and the chances are the home fans are whistling to fuck, most probably over something that was the correct decision anyway.

Even the most ardent La Ligaista, has to admit that this product is absolutely stratospheres behind the EPL, in almost every conceivable way.

Though I agree we should be more ruthless, Lamine won't become an all time great stat padding against 9 man Mallorca. He will become an all time great by performing in the crucial big games at the end of the season.

And to give himself the best chance of doing that, he should be rested to save his legs in done and dusted games precisely like this one.

He shouldn't have been brought out for the second half.

If this was later in the season, I would fully agree with you. In this situation, it was a perfect opportunity for Yamal to get more confidence in front of goal and sharpen his finishing in a match scenario. He is far too dependent on those curlers outside the box, and needs to show himself and everyone else that he can score goals from other positions. He can’t keep missing some of the sitters that he did in previous seasons, because ultimately that is going to lose us big titles.

Spaniards are bitchy cheats. That's just part of their current culture. Probably too much race mixing due to historical events is a factor.

Squeaking and whining is sometimes being heard more often than chanting.

Maybe it's the Barca bias as we tend to go on those grounds winning most of the time so they cry a lot.

The only difference between leagues and their fans is that one has booing fans and other has whistling fans. Premier league fans are one of the biggest manchilds you will see in your life.

It's true that there are more theatrics in La Liga compared to other leagues but for me that's one of the positives. You will never know when someone flips the fuck out and drama ensues. This game is for the entertainment after all.

I don't care about boos and whistles. Spain will never embrace Barca no matter how many World and European cups La Masia brought and will continue to bring them.

I love how easy the 3 points were won against a hostile crowd.

I like the league because of this. You go into these stadiums and they don't expect you with flowers. They will do whatever it is possible to win with their own means.

There were some teams that played poorly vs bigger sides consistently, likes of Elche, Eibar and some teams like that that didn't put up much fight vs top teams, but usually, the lower teams make it hard for the star clubs.

La Liga games at these stadiums can often be a chore. Sometimes I'd like more open nature of EPL games where teams open themselves up and you get more entertaining matches football wise, but La Liga poses its own intricacies and problems, which are different to EPL.

For example, it is pretty obvious that Flick is not yet accustomed to this boxy nature of La Liga games. Lower pace, more negativistic teams, time wasting, you need to know how to handle everything that gets thrown at you, knowing that quite a few teams won't play the type of game you want.

It is not a coincidence that some of the worst games we played last season were vs lower table teams that camped down and refused to exchange blows openly.
