Barca 2025 pre-season: Barca 5-0 Como

Guille either has a transfer worked out already or flick doesn't rate him at all, which is worrying because flick is horrible at identifying talent

Probably a transfer with a buyback being worked out. There's just no room for him in the midfield and Porto + Dortmund want him.

Guille will make it somewhere else. No chance we negotiate a good buyback fee.

We only get those on players we have no plans on bringing back. Like Big Dom or Estanis.

Difficulty for both Jules & Eric playing out from the back, Ratiu would be a great upgrade still now that Rayo has bought 50% of rights

This is FdJ's big improvement since returning under Flick. He scans more and has much better awareness of his teammates' positions than he used to have. No hesitation, immediate release to players ready to receive. Just another Rakitic up until this past year.
Frenkie has always had that awareness. He’s always been one of the most astute players. One of his biggest strengths.

It’s just that he used to try to eliminate risk from his play style and I think Flick is telling him he has more freedom to do what he wants.

The moment I was alluding to had nothing to do with ball hogging. It’s where he makes the better decision in a situation where most players would pass it to rashford who is higher up the pitch and could also make shot after controlling it.

No, he hasn't always had that awareness. Previously, a head-down player when receiving the ball with his back to goal, always getting caught up in dwelling on the ball and shielding it in 1 on 1 battles with his markers, killing offensive play because he had no idea what his options were before receiving the ball. It's night and day since returning from injury under Flick.

Agrée with this, mostly. I honesty have the impression he checked out mentally, whether it was down to contract pressure to renegotiate or the lean years in terms of team competitiveness

But this Frenkie, is not the one we have had to endure for several years since even prior to Leo’s exit - I am a fan of this De Jong who gives all indications he is ALL in

Saw the replay of the Gamper. Team pressed well and generated many chances that way. Preparation went well, it seems. Maybe these recent injuries happened due to intensity.

On the side note, watching fat Laporta at that Mini stadium was kinda allegorical. Not that he showed any shame for not delivering on his promises.

Uncertainty continues as we enter the season without stadium, without registering new signings and losing the pillar of defense.

No major signings either while everyone in neighborhood and beyond spent big. Flick will have to deliver a miracle yet again but he's been a stoic so far and he will not complain.

I think Garcia will be registered now that MATS signed the report. I don't really care about the other ones, Toni and Dro are better than them anyway so not registering Rashford and Roony could be even a positive long term.

Why do be need to be subbing players who need match rhythm? Makes no sense. 3-4 weeks from now when we have the main players in full fitness, yes, totally different.

Give the team a bit of time to reach the speed and pressing levels we need to get at. We had an insanely easy schedule so far this preseason. The Asian sides and Como barely tested us.

No one has match rhythm in the first 3-4 games, those are the games you use to build competitive rhythm for your core 16-17 players.

But even if that's the case, you still have 3-4 players on the bench that are basically starter that need that time.

In no way it made sense to play raphinha and yamal, as long as he did.

It is far more important at the start to build match rhythm for the key players. The other players will have 3-4 weeks of trainings and will get there as well. We need the main core to be ready for the start of the season.
